"Nick sorry for lashing out on you like that." Jake patted Nick's shoulder.

"It's okay man. I just don't want anything to happen to her."

"That's why I'm here. To keep anything from happening to her."

"Well! That's make two of you." I tried to light the atmosphere that was about to set on fire once again.

"I took your sauce of the stove." Nick said as he poured himself a glass of wine and sat on the counter.

"I totally forgot about that." I placed my hand on my face.

"Jake do you want to join us for lunch?" Nick asked.

"I would but I have some things to take care of. Des I'll call you for that thing we were talking about." He kisses my head "Make sure to check your phone. Bye!" He side hugged me and left, leaning me with Nick who had millions of question marks passing through his eyes.

"So... you're hungry?" I rolled my lips into my mouth.

"Destiny?"

"Yeah?"

"Is there anything you want to tell me?"

"Umm.. No." I smiled.

"Destiny!" He rose his voice a bit.

"I knew they would be trouble." I whispered to myself.

"They?"

"Jake and Chase."

"Who's Chase?"

"He is my other friend. He came here to see me too. And he rented the apartment across the hallway."

"Okay.." he took a deep breath.

"Are you mad?"

"I'm not mad. Just overwhelmed. Too much information."

"I'm sorry for hiding stuff from you." I wrapped my arms around his waist.

"It's okay baby." He kissed my head " I'm here for anything you need."

"Thank you for understanding."

"I'm your boyfriend. I have to be understanding." He kissed me deeply but I pulled away.

"What?" He frowned.

"Nothing. Just tired." I lied.

My thoughts were occupied by all the stuff Jake told me not too long ago. What do they want from me after all this time? Why now? Why not earlier?

"Earth calling Destiny!" Nick'a voice snapped me out of my daze.

"Were you listening to anything I said?"

"Sorry I spaced out."

"Are you sure you're okay?"
