i woke up to a bright light onto my face

i heard machines beeping around me and the shuffling of feet before i saw my dads face in my vision

he cried my name, and grabbed my face, thanking god

i furrowed my eyebrows

i didn't know where i was

or why i was here

but all i knew is i was in a hospital

and i did not want to be here

last time i was in one i watched my mother and brother die

so i started crying

sobbing even

i wanted out of here

i heard more shuffling of feet, and then arms on mine, and a little light was shined into my eyes

and then i felt myself calm down

i slowly slipped away

and it was dark and quiet again
