"Hey, we are friends right?" He said. Shit, friend zoned. Damn
"Friends?" I asked and he looked confused
"Anyways!! Thank you so much, I needed this" I said
"I like how you fixed your place. You live here alone?" He asked.
"Well, I bought it as an investment, since my family prefers to stay in Hong Kong. I might have it rented out, or Ben can live here since his Uni's just outside the neighborhood. I don't really know yet"
I said as we walked to the backyard and we sat down on couch outside with the view of the pool and LA.
"How are you though" He asked as he placed his arm behind me on the couch
"I'm great" I said as I tried to smile and he moved closer to me and placed his arm around me
"Tell me the truth" He said
"I will be okay, okay?" I said
"Tell me how you feel, I'll be here to listen" He said. Trying to comfort me.
"I don't know Cam, I'm not that comfortable. Let's be real, I BARELY know you!! Like okay I'm a fan and all that shit but I want to get to you know as YOU"
"Okay. Let's play a game, I ask you a question, we both answer and you ask me a question back and we both answer again. Okay?"
"Okay." I said
"Okay I'll start. Favorite pet?"
"DOGS!!" I said "SAME!!, now your turn!" He said
"Horoscope?" I asked
"Virgo" He said "Aries" I said
"Favorite Colors?" He asked
"Pink" I said "Blue" He said
"Shoe size?" I asked
"OMG seriously?? is this getting dirty that quick??" He asked
"No! i was just wondering haha" I said
"Hmmm okay. 11" He said "8" I said
"Favorite Brand?" He asked me
"That shit's hard dude" i said
"Okay then name 3 from different categories?" He said
"Okay uhm Louis Vuitton for handbags, Zara for clothing and Off White for streetwear" I said
"what the fuck, I only noticed your shoes now. How the fuck did you get those? they aren't even released yet! I've been trying to get it but they said I had to wait" He asked as he pointed at my yeezy's
"let's just say I know a guy. Okay now your turn!!" I said as I winked. I grabbed my phone and texted Ben
Me: "Hey could you get me a size 11 for the new yeezy's?"
Ben: "For your boy, I see?"
Me: "Pleaaaaseee"
Ben: "okay I'll have a guy drop it off today. Just deposit the money in my account"
"Hey! Stop it with your phone!" He said
We continued the game and after an hour Cam started complaining
"I don't wanna play anymore" He said as he wrapped his arms around him and pouted
"Heeeeeey, I'm sorry" I said as I faced him and our faces were around a few inches apart and we were about to kiss when
*ding dong* *ding dong*
"Sorry" I said as I got up and walked up to the gate as Cam followed me
I went out and a guy opened a box to show me the pair, placed it inside the bag
"Hey, who is it?" He asked and I mouthed the words
"Wait"
The guy had me sign a few papers and gave me the paper bag. Ben works for a sneaker store and they get first dibs on everything before it gets released.
I walked back towards Cam
"What was that about?" He asked as we walked back.
We sat on the couch as I handed him over the paper bag
"What's this?" He said
"Open it" I said and as soon as he saw the box...
"Holy shit. Why would you do this??" He said as he hugged me
"Uh I mean thanks. Wow sorry I'm just in shock" He said as he felt kind of awkward
"Well you said you wanted it" I said as I shrugged my shoulders
"Yeah but I didn't expect to have it like an hour later! You're such a great friend Kat" He said as he wrapped his arms around me.
"Friend... yup..." I said and faked a smile and he just looked at me and I knew he knew what I was saying but I wonder why he wasn't doing anything about it
It was getting cold outside so we decided to go back inside and light up the fireplace. Cam was eventually just busy with his phone so our conversations really weren't getting anywhere
"I should get going" Cam said as he suddenly got up and walked away
"You forgot something" I said as he looked back and I tossed him the box of shoes
"You know what else I forgot?" Cam said
"What?" I asked as Cam ran to me and kissed me and after a few seconds we broke away from each other
"I've been wanting to do that ever since the day that I met you" He said
"Then why haven't you?" I asked
"I gotta fix things. I'll call you" He said as he tucked me hair behind my ear, kissed my cheek and walked away.
