"Oh crap. Oh crap. Oh crap. Shit. Crap." I ran to the bathroom with my head focused on the ground. I opened the door, relieved to fine no one here.

I sighed and got my bag of makeup out.

I covered the bruise that was starting to show through the mass amounts of makeup covering it.

Why did I fall asleep in class. I roll my eyes at myself and looked at myself in the mirror.

There, now you can't see any bruises.

I sighed at my sad reflection. It sucks that I have to hide like this. I fight the urge to cry but a whimper escapes my lips. I roll my long sleeves up to reveal bruises and scratches and cuts. I sniff.

Don't cry, Sapphire. Don't be weak. Just make people smile and go through this day.

I sigh again and pull my sleeves down.

Make people happy. It's what you're best at.

I gave myself a weak smile and left the bathroom.

I walked through the empty hall back to class.

I made my way to my seat as people were still finishing their assignment.

Logan made eye contact with me from two seats to the right of me and we smiled at each other.

"If you aren't finished, it becomes homework." Said Mrs. Kastin.

Some people groaned and I leaned back in my chair.

I finished a long time ago and so I just waited until the bell rang for dismissal.

I shut my eyes for a moment and a few minutes pass by.

The bell rings and the loud noises of chairs and desks being moved woke me up.

"Sapphire."

I glanced to my right. "Oh sorry."

Logan held out a hand and I lightly take it. I get up from my chair and get my backpack from the back of my chair.

"So what do you do after school?"

I gave Mrs. Kastin a smile and a wave which she also returned.

"I sometimes have student council meetings after school but today is Monday so there isn't anything after school for me."

"So are you free after school? May be to hang out. We could get to know each other more possibly." He asked looking hopeful.

I smile and that smile quickly fades. "I'm not available anytime outside of school." I say quietly.

He looked at me confused. "Oh uh that's alright then. Do you have like a phone number or anything I can reach you by?"

"No... I don't have a phone or anything." We stop at my locker and I put my backpack inside.

"You don't bring your backpack?"

"Nah. I usually finish homework during the day so I don't find it necessary to bring it home."

"Hmm. Alright."

I could tell he was unsure of something. "What are you thinking about?" We start walking to the exit of the school.

"There's no way of communicating with you outside of school and I'd love to get to know you more. Do I have to know more about Sapphire during school?"

"Yes." I grinned. "What did you want to know about me?"

"Hmm. How about, favorite childhood memory."
