Chapter Two:

"Alright alright everyone! Take a seat and be quiet!" A short man with balding hair shouts. I freeze as I see the entire theatre room stuffed with students of all different faces. Kaisho chuckles and pushes me towards a group of people with the same outfit as me.

"Everyone kinda sits with their group. Freshman sit with freshman." He says. I slowly start walking towards them, squeezing by girls and guys who glare at me and make faces. I sigh and finally find a empty seat next to a guy wearing glasses. He smiles at me and I make a face. He quickly looks away.

"Welcome to Reitaku High. Your high school experience is supposed to be like no other. I want you all to make memories and have laughs and make friends. My name is Professor Akihiko. I am the principal of this school." No one says anything and he continues to talk. "Here at Reitaku, we have a couple of new students. I want all my fellow students to make them feel warm and welcomed. There are lots of activities that one could join. We have block clubs and sport clubs. There is a club for everyone's liking. We are a five star school; so I expect my students to act like five star students. The rules are very simple, so there shouldn't be any problems. Are there any questions?" I looked around. There sure were a lot of students here. No one raised their hands. "Then that concludes today's announcement. Have a good day." He puts the microphone down and everyone stands up to head out to their first period class. I look for Kaisho, but I don't see him.

My first period class is math class. I hate math and I hate making my brain work at eight in the morning. I walk into class and find a seat in the back. My math teacher is a male teacher. He has short black hair and light green eyes. He's tall and has skin the color of the cherry blossom trees. White as snow. He smiles at us as we all take seats. I notice some kids from the assembly. The guy with the glasses stares at me. I try my best to ignore him.

"Welcome class, my name is Professor Ichi and I will be your math teacher for the school year. Today, we are gonna get to know each other and take a small quiz to see where you all are, acadamically that is." Some of the students groan because of the pop quiz. I sit there, waiting for him to continue.

One by one he goes around the room, calling on people in class. I find out the boy with the glasses name is Hansuke Masuoka and he like skateboarding and cooking. He's fourteen and he has a little sister. Everyone turns to look at me.

"Himawari, it is your turn." Professor Ichi says. I gulp and look around the room. So many faces look just like mine.

"Hello. My name is Himawari Fujimoto. I am fourteen years old. I have a younger brother. I live with my mom. I like English, art, and music." I say. Professor Ichi clears his throat.

"Where are you from?" He asks.

"I'm from Cincinnati Ohio, but my homeland is Chiba, Japan." I whisper. A few students stare at me.

"What's it like in America?" A girl with pink hair question.

"Are people truly fat?" Another girl asks with purple hair.

"Why did you come back here?" Hansuke asks. My throat is dry and my hands are clammy.

"Now now everyone, that will be enough questions for now. We should make Miss Fujimoto-San feel welcomed." Professor Ichi announced. Everyone stopped staring at me and turned their attention to the front of the class.

As Professor Ichi started explaining how class is and what we are supposed to learn, I let my mind drift back to Kaisho Hayashi. He is so cute. I imangie us at a river bank, watching the sunset. His lip piercing gleams in the sunlight and his dark blue ocean eyes stare into mine. He reaches for my hand and tells me he wants to kiss me. I blush extra red as I think of how his lips taste on mine.

"Uh, Miss Fujimoto?" Professor Ichi whispers. I gasp and look down. There's a paper on my desk and everyone is staring at me. I stand up quickly.

"I have to use the bathroom," I shout and hurry out the room.

In the girls bathroom I sit on the toilet in a stall and sigh. That was so embarrassing. Who thinks about a hot guy in class like that? I sigh and flush the toilet, just in case Professor Ichi sends someone to look for me and walk out the bathroom stall. I wash my hands and stare at myself in the mirror for a long time. I take a deep breath.

"I can do this. I can manage my first day here and I will not let a stupid guy get in the middle of it." I say.

"What stupid guy? You know? They are all pretty stupid." A voice says. I scream and fall backwards. A girl with bright purple eyes and black ebony hair smiles down at me. She starts to laugh. "You must be the new girl. My name is Mika Rin. It's nice to sorta meet you." I am under no position to want to shake her hand.

"I'm sorry, I have to go." I say, standing up quickly and walking away from her. I hurry out the bathroom and head back to Professor Ichi's class. Everyone is about done taking their pop quiz. I have yet to even start it. I go back to my seat and stare at the quiz. Professor Ichi clears his throat.

"Five more minutes class." He instructed. I gasp and grab a blue pen and start scribbling answers on the paper. They are probably wrong, but a wrong answer is better than no answer. "Times up, everyone put your pencils down and pass your papers up." He says. I solemnly pass my paper towards the person sitting in front of me and sigh. I'm pretty sure I bombed this pop quiz and it's goons look like I need more help then what I usually need. The bell rings and I jump out my chair and dash towards the door. Professor Ichi calls my name. I want to pull my hair out. Everyone walks pass me and I stand there, waiting to be shot at. He stands up and walks towards me and I turn around to face him. He smiles at me. "Oh, don't be nervous. Here. I want to give you this." He says, handing me my pop quiz and a new one. I look at him.

"What are you doing? Just grade it and give me the bad news already." I mutter. He laughs and I can't help but feel a bit weird. His laugh is deep and gentle.

"Well, if you were listening. I don't accept work in ink." I turn red. Stupid me. "Also, I know it's your first day. So, take it home and look it over and give it to me tomorrow. Sounds like a deal?" I take the papers and look at him.

"Why are you doing this? I know there are other new students here. You could have did them for them. Besides, I don't want to draw attention to myself." Professor Ichi chuckles.

"Why do you think I waited till all the students were gone? Now, get out of here kiddo." He says. I take the papers and head out of class. I stuff the papers into my book bag and look and see what my next class is.

"Himawari! Whatcha doing!?" My younger brother Kira shouts. I turn to see him running towards me. He's wearing black slacks and a white button up shirt with a blue tie.

"Where's your jacket Kira-chan?" I asked.

"In my locker, I didn't want to wear it and the principal says I don't have to wear it." He says. I roll my eyes and he stands close to me. "How was first hour?" He questioned.

"It was okay, Professor Ichi is pretty cool. How do you like it here?" I asked. He shrugged, his black curly mop bopping as he does so.

"I like it, it's a bit new, but I bet American schools aren't anything like this." He says, smiling. "Besides, the American schools wouldn't let me jump four classes ahead. That's not fair." I roll my eyes.

"Oh, shut up smarty pants." I say. He laughs and the warning bell rings.

"I'll see you at lunch," He says. I watch as he walks away and I head to history class.
