It had been two full day and we have not established any solid leads. It was still early for the case but with the brass up on our ass and the paparazzi on our tail, this case was becoming annoying.

JJ and I were in an conference room where we set-up a murder board. The mayor has ordered to treat this case as discreetly as possible so all evidence and conversation was done in this room.

We have cleared all immediate family on the first day. Both the mother and the son had a solid alibi. It looks like they don't have any motives to murder the victim.

The wife was spoilt to death. She was a simple housewife and a mother. She was the daughter of the rival toy company. Even though their marriage was fixed to merge the company, she claimed that their love was true.

The son was well loved and cared for. According to him, despite of his father's business at work, he still managed to attend some of his game. He took some time of to teach him stuff and even took him fishing one time.

Financially, the family was doing great. Business was a boom. There were no indication of bankruptcy or financial difficulties. No known business enemies.

We also checked his will and all of his properties will given to his son which the wife confirmed. She said that everything was for their son.

When asked about her gambling, she defended herself that she was not an addict and it was just from time to time. Her husband gave her allowances that she can use in whatever mean that she likes.

His son on the other hand also had a good college fund and was also give an nice car.

To conclude, he was the perfect father, husband and businessman.

Today, we have cleared all the house helpers. They were still out best lead but the all claim to be asleep before midnight.

To solidify their alibi, the house was full of surveillance camera. It was set up a month before the murder happened. The victim ordered the installation when a series of burglary happened in their area.

In the tape, the victim was shown to enter his office at past eleven pm. We checked the video more than twice and no one entered until around five when Lisa discovered the body.

It was clear by her reaction that she had not expect to see what she just witnessed. Her screamed seemed to wake everyone out and it was the head butler who made the call.

The security system in the house was not compromised in any way. The roving guards didn't see anything. Unless the victim stabbed himself, nothing seemed to fit the situation.

The autopsy didn't help either. It was a plain and simple attack. A single stab wound to the back. The blade pierced the heart that caused an instant death. There were no finger print in the knife. The only thing that was conclusive that he was stabbed by his own kitchen knife. It was confirmed by the cook that a piece was missing. The knife was also left in the body that act as a plug. There was no blood spatter found in the area.

I sighed.

I scratched my head.

I sighed again.

"You are frustrated." JJ said the obvious. "We still have a lot of angles to look at."

"I know and I think it was time to investigate the mistresses."

"Shall we inform the widow?" He asked.

"No! Not yet! The guy's a saint in their eyes if we or Lisa's wrong then we would have tainted his image." I said. "Can we pull up his employee file?"
