We walked into a room of the house, the creme walls were covered by bookcases that reached the ceiling. Books sat piled high around the room. A desk sat in front of one of the bookshelves at an angle. 2 armchairs and an ottoman sitting in front of the windows. On the other side of the room were an art easel and a stereo. I gaped at the room, it was so elegant and cozy. "This is my room," Jasper said I turned to him

"It's amazing," I said, pausing looking around for a bed, "No bed?" I asked

"No sleep," I frowned, I couldn't live without sleep, it was the only escape from the real world.

"So what do you do all night?" I asked

"I paint and read," He said he played with his hands, I walked toward him placing my hand into his.

"You'll have to show me your art sometime," I say he nodded using his free hand to push my hair for my face. He leaned down to kiss me, which I happily returned. When we pulled away I smiled widely at him. I turned around looking at the books on the bookshelf, noticing a large number of them were on the American Civil war. "American civil war?" I asked touching the spines to the books.

"Yeah, I like to see what they get right about it," he said, "They normally don't have all the details," he finished

"Did you fight in that war?" he nodded

"The Youngest major in the Union calvary," he said, taking a step towards me, "I was just about 17 when I joined, I was promoted quickly to major within my 2 years of being in the army," he explained

"What happened?"

"I was evacuating women and children when I ran into a vampire named Maria and her sisters Nettie and Lucy. Maria was building her own army and thought that having someone with training would help her further her dominance in the south. Maria used a romantic relationship with me to trick me into staying and using my abilities to keep her army in line." Jasper paused taking in a breath before continuing "I thought I was in love with her, but she was just playing me, I learned that vampires coexisted up in the north and left her, I met Alice in 1948, she had met and fallen in love with Noah. She told me about this beautiful blonde girl who would fall in love with me. Only in I chose to follow her on the path she saw. I agreed because for the first time in my immortal life I had hope," he finished the story, the mention of me caused me to blush.

"Maria was a bitch," I said, causing him to laugh, "Alice saw me in 1948?" I asked realizing this

"Alice has the ability to see flashes of possible futures, as people make decisions the future becomes set in stone, you were in my future," he says, tucking a piece of hair behind my ear.

"Okay, Cassanova," I teased, "so Alice saw me coming," he nods, "Does every vampire have an ability?"

"No, some of us do, Carlisle believes that it stems from these traits as a human. I was very charismatic as a human when I turned it amplified and allowed me to influence emotions. Alice could see the future but not as well as now. Edward was perceptive as a human, now he can read minds," I hummed understanding the conclusions. We passed time talking and laughing with one another. It was comfortable and amazing. It felt as if we had known one another forever.
