I smiled at the dazzling ring on my finger before I entered Bella's room with a wide smile. She laid in her bed still asleep when I jumped softly onto the bed with the gift box in my hand. Bella shifted in her sleep before slowly opening her eyes to look at me. I smiled "Happy birthday to us!" I say as she sits up. I pull her into a tight hug before handing her the wrapped present. "Open it!" I say she tears the wrapping off the paper and taking off the top to the box to reveal a gold chained necklace with a sapphire jewel that was shaped like a teardrop. "It's our birthstone," she smiles up at me
"I love it," She says pulling me into a second hug.
"Here let me put it on you," I say she turns, and I fasten the chain around her neck. The dark jewel falls on her chest, contrasting from her pale skin. She touches the jewel and smiles.
"My turn," She says leaning toward her side table and pulling out a box pretty similar to the one I handed her and giving it to me. I smile at her tearing open the paper and looking at the gold bracelet in the box. I smile brightly
"It's beautiful," I say looking up at Bella who smiled, I run my finger over the circular pendant that held both sides of the chain. I look up when I hear the footsteps of my father roaming about the downstairs of our house. I sigh "I'll be right back," I run out of the room and put on a pair of blue contacts before running back into Bella's room as the dad started walking up the stairs. He enters Bella's room, his hands full of wrapped and unwrapped presents.
"Happy birthday, Bells, Lil," Dad says, as he kissed my cold forehead
"Dad, we agreed, no gifts," Bella says
"The one from me is not wrapped, so it doesn't count," Dad says, causing me to chuckle softly to myself. Dad handed Bella a camera before handing me a leather backed book. On the cover of the book was my name written in beautiful calligraphy. I smiled widely.
"It's actually great. Thanks, Dad," Bella says dad then hands us each a wrapped present.
"Goes with this one from your mom. We coordinated - well, she coordinated me," Dad says, causing me to laugh again. I open the box to find a Michael Jackson vinyl for Bad. I gasped smiling brightly at my father, who laughed as Bella opened hers to find a simple scrapbook. Bella seemed pleased with the simple gift.
"To put your pictures in, record your senior year, man, senior year. How'd you get so old so fast?" Dad asks
"We didn't. It's not that old," Bella says her voice had an underlying sense of defensiveness. I smiled to myself softly as dad gained a mischievous look in his eyes.
"Well, I don't know is that a gray hair?" Dad says causing Bella to jump out of bed to look into the mirror and look for the hair. She quickly realized that there was no gray hair. She looks back at us and I snort softly. Dad puts his hands up in surrender. "Happy birthday," He says
"That's really funny," Bella says
"Thanks, dad," I shout after him. He yells back and I laugh looking at Bella with a teasing smile, and she glares playfully. I stand "I'm going to get ready for school," I tell her heading off to my room dressing in some jeans and a tee shirt. I grabbed my platform shoes. Bella and I leave for school. Looking around the school campus, smiling. I look over at my twin who seemed more nervous than anything. I step out onto the wet concrete looking over at Bella's friends who seemed happy to see her. "Lighten up Bells," I tease as she glares at me, and I smile back playfully, "This is our year," I tell her happily squeezing her shoulders tightly in excitement. We walk toward the group of friends who smile talking playfully to one another.
"Todays the big day wonder twins," Jessica says I can basically feel the panic radiating off of my sister "R & J essay due," Jessica says a little weirded out by Bella's odd behavior as I chuckle softly
"Yeah," Bella replies shortly
"Wherefore art thou, Bella," I laugh, pushing a strand of blonde hair out of my face
"Let me take a picture of you guys, our mom wants me to put together, like, a scrapbook full of memories," Bella says her group of friends agree and I smile taking the camera out of her hands.
"I got it," I say
"I take them. I'm not in them," Angela protests
"No, no, no, come here," Eric says, pulling her toward him. I smile at them, they were honestly adorable. The group continues to banter as Bella settles between Mike and Eric.
"Smile!" I say, and they all smile and I snap the photo. I could hear the sounds of cars approaching campus.
"Oh good, Cullen's here," Mike says bitterly as Eric cheers fakely. Bella says her goodbyes. Jasper and Edward get out walking toward us. I smile widely at Jasper.
"Happy birthday," Edward says
"Don't remind me," I roll my eyes
"Remember what I said Bella," I say she pushes me lightly and I chuckle leaning into Jasper who kisses my head.
"Your birth is definitely something to celebrate," I look up at Jasper pretending to puke, and he laughed, grabbing my hand
"My aging is not," Bella replies
"Your aging," Edward teases I scrunch my nose up
"Let's get out of here before they start monologuing," I whisper to Jasper knowing full well Edward could hear me. Edward looks at me and I smirk pulling Jasper away.
"Happy birthday," Jasper says when we enter the school building and walking up a seat of short stairs. I hum putting my hands on his cheeks, kissing him softly.
"Lilith!" I hear the familiar tone of Alice's chirpy voice. I groaned leaning my head back into the wall before turning to see the short brunette. "Happy birthday!" She says pulling me into a tight hug which I return.
"Thank you," She hands me a wrapped present. I pull the large black bow and lifted the top to see a dress. It was black and simple. "I love it, thanks Ali," I say hugging her again
"You're wearing it tonight to your birthday party," She says semi sternly
"You don't have to convince me," I tease "Bella is a much harder case though," I say the short girl agrees before looking at the door as Bella and Edward walk in.
"Bella!" Alice says jumping over the railing of the stairs. "Happy birthday!" She chirps hugging Bella, who shushes her. Noah looks at Jasper with a short smile as we walked down the steps. The bell rings and I sigh. Alice hands the other black box to Bella, who takes it into her hands.
"I thought we said no presents," Bella says
"You said that I did not!" I correct Bella rolls her eyes playfully before sticking her tongue out at me, which I repeat the gesture.
"I've already seen you open it, and guess what, you love it," Alice says with the familiar knowing look on her face. "You're going to wear it tonight, our place," Bella hesitates, "Come on please, it'll be fun," Alice begs I see her slowly giving in. I look up at Jasper to see him concentrating on my sister. I nudge him smirking.
"Okay, all right!" Alice squeals
"Great, okay, I'll see you at 7," She skips along meeting Noah who kisses her head softly.
"Jasper, hey, no fair with the mood control thing," I laugh quietly looking up at my fiance who was caught red-handed.
"Sorry Bella, happy-" He looks at my twin who wears a frustrated look at the almost happy birthday "Never mind," He says before I drag him away.
"Bye," I say waving at Noah who waves back as Alice pulls him away too.
