We went back in to the palace and up the guest wing to the eighth floor. If I weren't a hunter and didn't have a very good stamina I probably would have complained about the number of flights of stairs I had just gone up. What a great place to put a meeting room though. If an enemy were to attack while a meeting was taking place they would probably tire out before they even got a chance to carry the attack out.

Nathan had been silent and serious, lost in his own thoughts the whole way there.

Unlike the other floors that lead into a passage way this, floor just seemed to have a small walking space leading to two huge doors. The doors were closed but Nathan being a gentleman opened one and gestured for me to enter first, which I did.

The room was full of Alphas and Lunas I had seen the night before at the ball. They all seemed to be having an intense discussion but when they noticed me everyone became silent. They all had expressions of anger, hatred and slight fear. Nothing new there. I kept a blank look on and walked further in to the room until I had nearly got to the end and stood by the wall to observe my surroundings.

The room itself had a hard looking navy blue carpet and light blue painted walls. It had a high ceiling with crystal chandeliers hanging from it. The room was big enough to hold hundreds of people for a conference but it currently held a large, polished, light brown table that held nearly forty alphas and lunas, each almost pair representing one of the twenty packs in the kingdom. One or two alphas and lunas were missing either because they were dead or currently not present. There was a throne at the end of the table which I assume is where the king was supposed to sit but was yet to arrive. There was also a small door at the back of the room. Nathan took a seat three seats from the throne on the left side of it. On his right side sat a woman who looked vaguely like him but on her left sat a man who looked exactly like him but older. Those must have been his parents. They were both beautiful and handsome and held a certain air of power that was slightly less than the kings but still a great deal. The beta and beta female of the kingdom.

There were a few glares throne my way but ignored them and waited patiently for the king. After about five minutes he finally walked in with his son in tow and everyone stood up and bowed their heads in respect but I remained uncaring. He took a seat on his throne while Jackson took a seat on his immediate right and everyone followed suit.

The king motioned for me to sit next to his son. I didn't like what it implied to others but I didn't want to be disrespectful to the guy paying my bills so I nodded and followed his instructions. Jackson looked excited and pleased for me to be sitting next to him while everyone else just stared at the small interaction between us in both shock and awe.

King Henry, I finally remembered his name, stood up and cleared his throat to get everyone's attention even though he already had it.

"Ladies and gentlemen, it is a shame that we have had to gather here today because of dire circumstances that have befallen our great kingdom. As some of you may heard, the kingdom is under threat and the peace we have kept between us, the other super naturals and the humans could be at risk. This is unfortunately true. Sources have indicated that there has been an increase in rouge attacks on humans and packs, and their numbers as well have doubled. They are beginning to gather together to form one large pack or, more accurately, army. This is all because of one man. A man they call the rouge king. This so called king plans on attacking the palace to take a hold of the throne and throw the world into a war which he thinks he will win and will then rule over all kind." He stopped for a moment to let everyone take it all in and make sense of what it meant for them and their packs before he continued,
