Kara x Luther

Under the starry sky

Kara flattened the blanket inside the tent, trying to make sure the tent ground was comfortable enough to sit on. She carefully placed the pillows on the blanket, trying to make sure the blankets were fluffed enough. "I'm done, you can come in, " Kara
notified Alice.

Alice entered the tent first, pushing the tent flaps away. "Your shoes, Alice," "Sorry, Kara, " she took her sandals off, placing them outside the tent, next to Kara's sandals.

"Can I have my dolls?" Alice turned around to face Kara. "As long as you don't make a mess, " Kara pointed the pink backpack with Winnie the Pooh looking at cartoon flowers.  Beneath the image of Winnie the Pooh, the name Pooh was written in pink cursive.

Alice speed walked to her backpack, dragging it by the handle. She sat on the blanket, positioning herself in comfortable way, then unzipped the backpack. She pulled out an Eeyore plushy along with several other Barbie dolls.

Kara leaned and reached for the huge, thick wrapped box. She tipped it over then pulled the box over using her two hands, placing it in her lap.
"Alice, " she whispered in soft, comforting tone. Alice turned around, glancing at the gigantic box. Her face lit up with excitement, taking the present from her mother's hands. She ripped the cartoon animal wrapping paper off the box, revealing a three story Barbie dream house. "Happy birthday Alice," she wished with a sincere smile, opening her arms. Alice placed the gift down and rushed over to her mother, wrapping her arms around Kara in a tight embrace,  "Thank you, Kara."

After helping and giving Alice her birthday gift, Kara left the tent to talk to Luther.  The smooth sand brushed against the android's feet as she gracefully approached the more masculine, taller android, her brown hair and white summer dress dancing in the calm wind. The dreamy sea was its own master. From the smell of sea air spread across the Vancouver Beach, to the sound of the sea buzzing with its calm but dormant, dominant strength.

Feeling the gaze upon him, Luther turned around to see a beautiful woman approaching him. He picked up the camera by his foot and aimed it Kara, snapping a quick picture. Kara crossed her arms across herself in embarrassment and sprinted towards the campfire where Luther was smiling and laughing. The smell of a crisp fire masked the sea air, "If you don't want me taking pictures of you Kara," Luther explained, "then don't walk so slow. " He focused his longing gaze on Kara as she spoke passionately about the beach, "It's just that this place is so," she paused, looking off into the distance, trying to find the right word,  "breathtaking. "

They passed time by diving deep into their past, in their darkest times, the times where androids were enslaved by humans. "Kara," he placed his hand on Kara's, squeezing it affectionately. "You and Alice mean everything to me," he planted a kiss on her forehead, a caring smiling following after. She removed her hand from his grasp, and wrapped her arms around his huge body. He also embraced Kara affectionately, "please don't leave me, Kara. "

They went back into their tent, ready to sing happy birthday to Alice. Kara took an Alice in Wonderland cake out with the words, "Happy birthday Alice! We love you so much! -Love Mom and Dad, " in cursive in the corner. She lit the 9 candles up and began to sing with Luther, who was recording everything.

Once everyone was done singing, Alice made her wish and blew out her candles. Luther gave the camera to Kara as he pulled out a bag, handing it to Alice. From the gift bag,  she pulled out a cow plushy and a baby doll with a stroller. She thanked her dad and her mom for all the gifts and for the entire day in general.

"And Sam went to sleep. On a dark and stormy night on Plum Street, the end, " Luther closed the book, placing it on the floor. He kissed the sleeping child on the forehead and quietly exited the tent.

He walked toward the concentrated android, imprinting his footprints in the soft sand, each step, getting closer.  Kara flipped the page, going onto chapter two. She slightly jolted up feeling the sudden grip on her shoulders, "Luther!" she exclaimed. He seated himself next to Kara, putting his arm around her. Kara's head fell onto his big brooding shoulders, still keeping her eyes on her book, "we go through so many stages when we're here, " she read. "We shed a baby body, go into a child's,  from child to an adult, an adult into old age. Why shouldn't we go one step beyond and shed the adult body and go onto a spiritual plane? That is what we do.  We don't just stop growing: we continue to grow. "

As she read through the pages, Luther noticed how much energy and passion she put into each sentence, each word that escaped her cold lips.

The sunset bled into a dark and gloomy sky, puffs of smoke lingering in the air. Kara finally closed the book and set it aside. She felt Luther rub his  hand up and down her arm, comforting her. She kissed his jawline  and smiled, "I love you," she stared into his eyes with a loving look. "I love you more, Kara."

(A/N: sorry for the long wait, I was struggling with inspiration and motivation issues. I have to apologize if this chapter was messy and pretty much shit. I know my writing isn't the best. :) But before I write the next chapter, I have to thank you all so much for 1K reads!)
