Markus x Female Reader

Try again

You walked down the rainy streets of Detroit, your head clouded with anxious thoughts, your eyes flooded with tears. The lights from the screens and trees illuminated the park. The quick and light taps of rain resonated throughout the drenched city. You stopped walking to see how far you walked. "Damn, " you uttered to yourself. You walked from your neighborhood to Capital Park!

The sound of shoes slapping against water echoed throughout the park, interrupting your thinking. You relocated your gaze, staring at the man slowly emerging toward you, "Can I help you?" You said in a casual tone. As he inched closer, you got a better glimpse of him. He had slightly tan skin, one green eye and one blue eye, something about him was familiar. "Hey, " he grinned. His voice! He was Markus, the leader android of Jericho. You gradually moved backwards, "I'm not gonna hurt you, Y/N, " he reassured. How can you trust him again after what had happened?! As much as you wanted to run, you felt frozen. You felt your entire body trembling as beads of sweat rolled down your forehead. You felt your heart quicken, your breath shortening, as Markus approached you. You pulled your gun out from your back pocket, "P-Please back away, I don't want to go back to Jericho!" you managed to stutter, trying to sound determinate. Markus reached out for you and said something you couldn't make out. Your vision began to blur, everything began to spin. You tried to move backwards but then you fell to the wet concrete with a loud thud, everything dissolving into black. The last thing you saw were Markus's emerald green and ocean blue eyes, staring dead into your eyes.

When you awoke, you found yourself in a rusty and dark room. You rubbed your hand across the wall, feeling to make sure you were at Jericho.
"Good, " you sighed in relief. Outside of the room you were in, many overlapped conversations could be heard. You stood up, the floor slightly creaking. You walked toward the area where light leaked through. You placed your hand on the doorknob and yanked it open only to be greeted by thousands of androids. You felt your heart quicken again, and your body beginning to vibrate. No, you can't give into the fear, not again.

You clenched the bottom of your jacket's sleeve tightly as you walked through crowds of androids. As you walked by, you saw many androids hugging and saying, "I don't wanna die." You walked up the stairs, remembering where to go. At the top of the stairs, you scanned the area looking for Markus. Once he was located, you marched up to him, trying to seem undisturbed, "I was just about to go down there and awake you, Y/N, " he explained. "Why am I here again?" You asked firmly. "I need to apologize for what happened to you, " "You want to apologize?" You chuckled. "I died and came back! I don't think I can ever shake off that feeling!" You boomed violently. "I fought for you and the freedom of our kind! And you repay me by ignoring me and shooting my damn brain out!" "I couldn't afford to have any distractions, what I did was right, " he said coldly. Tears formed in your eyes. You shook your head and crossed your arms, your mouth hanging open, "you know, I was actually starting to trust you, " you choked out.

You stormed off in tears to the balcony, hearing Markus's voice drown out in the crowds's conversations. When you reached the balcony, you broke down into an unbroken stream of tears. Your blue heart felt heavy, sinking deep into your chest. You fell weakly to the floor, your sobs loudly echoing through the ship. You have never felt so used and helpless in a long time. "Let me make it up to you," Markus offered. "How?" "You won't fight, you'll just observe, " he paused. "Observe how much I've changed. Please, Y/N, at least one day," he pleaded, trying to sound merciful, holding his hand out. You wanted to believe what the android was saying, but it was difficult. He abused you and refuses to see it as wrong, he saw your death as justice to Jericho. Even though he's thrown your feelings away and left a dent in your android heart, you felt the need to go back to him. You wiped the stream of tears away from your eyes, and took a deep sigh, taking Markus's hand, "Fine, " you trembled. "But don't hurt me again. "

Markus took you back inside, making you accompany him as he lectured all the other androids. "There's going to be a change in our approach towards the humans. We're going to be civil, " he screamed, explaining his plan to everyone. You remembered when he used to do this with you. Every single time he suggested violence, you always insisted. You always tried to make him change his mind. You would have the brightest smile painted on your face when it worked and he would always tell you how much he loved your smile. Every waking moment your alive, you hold onto those warm memories, reminding you of the incurable hurt he caused months ago. Every android in the freight started chanting. You stood up and tried to walk away but you felt a hand grip yours tightly, "Let me try, I can be a better man, " Markus pleaded once more. You looked into his eyes and saw the sorry. Why is it you fall for him every time no matter what he does? You squeezed his hand affectionly and smiled softly, "but please, don't hurt me again."

After we peacefully protested in front of the stores in Detroit, a few of us got killed. Markus was sitting on the balcony of the abandoned cargo ship, pondering thoughtfully. You approached him from behind, tapping his shoulder lightly, "hey, " you sat next to him. He still sat there, staring at the waters, "Y/N, Can I ask you something?" he shifted his eyes to meet yours. You nodded your head in agreement, "Why didn't you run? I know I told you to stay but I hurt you in a way that probably can never be forgiven. " You paused before answering, "You're right. I might never forgive you but I can try to help you. I can try to help you not do the same to anyone else you love, Markus." There was a short silence in the air, the sound of distant and muffled conversations within the ship lingered in the air. "I did regret it, Y/N, " he mourned. "I'm sorry," he agonized abjectly. Once again, tranquil silence. You leaned in and placed your cold lips on his then immediately pulled away, "I shouldn't have done that I'm so sorry, " "No, it's okay, " he said in a calm tone. He leaned in and planted his lips on yours, inching closer to you. He wrapped his arms around your hips, closing his eyes. You wrapped your arms around his neck, closing your eyes in the process. "Markus?" Simon chimed in. You and Markus immediately pulled away from each other, embarrassed. "We need your help with planning, " "Give me a minute." Simon walked back into the cargo ship, cursing under his breath. You giggled mischievously as Markus planted a kiss on your forehead, "I love you Markus," you whispered. "I love you too, Y/N."
