The Disappearance of Reimu: Part I

The first few chapters is literally background fodder. Please endure this kind of pacing, and I'll promise you that everything will be better in the later chapters. It might not look like it's canon at first, but bear with me and this pacing.

PK's view

What a great fucking time. It's been 3 months since Reimu went missing from the Hakurei Shrine. Every time I go to the shrine, there is a sign in front of the doors that say: Shrine closed due to errands or absence of undisclosed reasons.

Sanae, a maiden from the Moriya Shrine, took responsibility to keep the Great Hakurei Barrier from breaking. From what I heard she had no choice as her masters ordered her to do it.

I decided to investigate the problem on my own. Doing this will allow no interference or conflict at all. The first thing I did was figuring out who kidnapped Reimu. I'm not sure yet, but I think Marisa abducted Reimu herself to return to her sane state.

I would go Marisa's house either for returning grimoires to Patchouli and some errands; sometimes I would notice her mental breakdowns that happened frequently. She would say something about her childhood life, which included some person named Mima.

So I went to Akyuu-san's house to ask her about Mima and her existence in Gensokyo.

Akyuu's view

"Hello Akyuu-san." said an adolescent man, as he was entering the door and removing a Suwako-styled hat.

"Well, if it isn't PK. How's Rinnosuke doing?" I asked to him. PK smiled. "Rinnosuke's doing well." he said. "He's usually happy with the profit I give to him." I took out a history chronicle from one of the shelves as he explained Rinnosuke's status.

"I presume you're looking for someone on the history of Gensokyo." I said. "You have indeed read my mind." PK said, "Do you know if there was a Mima in the history in Gensokyo?"

My eyes lightened up when he said Mima. "Mima huh? I haven't heard that name since the previous generation talked about her. Give me a few seconds." I flipped the pages to a chapter that said PC-98. I scanned the pages until I found a section about the Mima PK was pondering for.

"This is the person that you are looking for." I showed PK the Mima page. "So this is Mima?" he asked. "Yes. Do you want to know about her?" I replied. PK nodded his head to show he was ready.

"Mima was a spirit who would constantly be sealed in a hokora by the shrine maiden known as Reimu."

"Reimu? Reimu existed in PC-98?"

"Indeed. The youkai describe her as a really powerful spirit, and only people like Reimu can equal her strength."

"I see..."
