Chapter one

"I told you we're going to be late." My brother, Ethan groaned. It was his first day back to school in a long time so he didn't want to be late. It wasn't even my fault tho.

"Hey, don't blame me I'm not the one taking so long in the shower." I said to him before fixing my bag that was on my shoulder. "Plus if you were going to take that long and didn't want to be late you should have woke up earlier."

"Come on, D, you know it takes me forever to wake up." Ethan said flashing me an innocent smile.

"I know. You pushed me off the bed when I tried waking you up. Remember." I said shaking my head at my younger brother.

"I know." Ethan chuckled, "and if you didn't want to get in trouble you could have went without me. You were already ready when you woke me up."

"Come on, E, like I would let my little brother get in trouble by himself." I said knowing he hates it when I remind him I'm older.

"By five minutes." Ethan groaned.

"Still older." I smiled. I got my brother back a month ago and were as close as we used to be.

"So I the dance thing here and I'm really curious why do the girls always ask the boys?" Ethan questioned.

Me and Ethan were always in different school. This was our first time in the same school. I knew this school while Ethan didn't. He didn't even go to school for three years.

"Its like a tradition I guess, but if you want to know more about it ask someone else cause that's all I know." I said messing with his hair. He swatted my hands away. And muttered "Not the hair." He started trying to fix his hair.

*beep* *beep*

I heard an annoying sound coming from my phone, meaning I got a message, I was about to open it when I saw Tk and Flash sitting in the stairs and Ace was standing next to them holding a basketball. They were looking at us. Tk looked amused while Flash looked confused and I didn't know what Ace was feeling. I couldn't read that emotion, but oh well. I pulled out my phone to look at the message.

From Lydia the queen:
Hey! How's the little kids first day till now? Hating it already?

I laughed a little. I guess lydia changed her contact name on my phone.

To Lydia the queen:
Hey! We don't know yet, we're re late and we didn't even go outside yet. Text u later.

I decided to leave that as her contact name. I nudged my brothers shoulders nodding towards the boys. "Thats Tk, Flash, and Ace." Ethan nodded meaning he heard what I said. He was never resllu much for attention. I waved slightly at them with a small smile. Ethan grabbed my hand, andI squeezed it.

"This is it." I looked at his nervous face, "Hey! You'll be okay." I told him calming him down. We walked inside the school opening the doors passing the trio."By the way the dance thing is called spring fling."

From Lydia the queen:
K. Have fun, love.

It turns out we didn't get in trouble. We split up in the library. We were trying to find a book we needed to help us study, but we couldn't so we split up.

I was walking not paying attention to my surroundings. I was looking around, and cursed whenever I thought I found it, but didn't actually find it, when I suddenly hit a wall.

When I realized it wasn't a wall I looked up. It was Ace. His hands were around my waist helping me regain balance. I realized that we were really close, my left hand was on his chest. I looked up on him while he looked down on me since I was a few inches shorter.

I bit my lip."I'm sorry and also thank you." He smiled at me, but he didn't move. I coughed reminding him of the position were in. We quickly tore our hands off.

"Its fine. Hey, uh did you ask anyone to the dance?" Ace said his hand at the back of his neck.

"No, I'm not sure if I'm even going." I admitted. It was true I wasn't sure if I should, but its Ethan's first dance here and I don't want him to be alone or miss out on it because of me. Plus if Lydia found out there was a dance at my school and I wasn't going she'll kill me.

"Why not? It'll be fun." He said probably trying to convince me into going. But it's not that easy.

"I'm not sure yet. Why would you miss me?" I teased.

"Yeah I would." He said. I looked away, with a hint of pink in my cheeks, than I saw flash and Kayla talking. I smiled watching them for a little bit, than turned back to Ace.

"Do you think flash likes Kayla?" I asked looking at him. I thought he does but i wasn't quite sure. Plus the two of them are best friends so he should know.

"Yeah I thinks so, why?" Ace asked.

"Isn't it obvious? I think they'll make a cute couple." I stated seeing Kayla walk away and Flash celebrate a little.

"There not the only ones." Ace muttered. I turned about to ask him what he means when Ethan comes over with the book.

"Hey I found the book, here." Ethan said handing me the book."I also found a book that will help me."

"Thanks E." I said with a small smile. "No problem." Ethan responded.

"E?" Ace said confused, he had a certain look in his eyes that I couldn't quite place.

"Oh yeah, I forgot. Ethan this is Ace, Ace this is my-" before I can finish Ace stopped me.

"I need to go." He said walking away.

"I don't think he likes me." Ethan frowned.

"He doesn't know you yet E, not like I do. Everythings going to be alright." I said comforting him.

"Thanks, sis."

"Anytime, baby bro." I smirked earned a groan from him.
