Jeongguk doesn't know what he's getting himself into.

After pouring himself out to Yerim under the stars the night before, he's feeling exceptionally better. There's no heavy thoughts and pressures keeping him awake tonight. Not even one. Instead, it's the stupid insomnia coming back to haunt him.

He rolls around in his bed, turning to lay on his right side, then on his left. He stretches his arms up, curls his legs, tried laying face down on his pillow. Nothing works. As usual.

He eventually gives up trying to fall asleep after what feels like 5 hours and reaches for his book that he keeps on the nightstand. He flips the pages open to the chapter he last stopped at and starts reading. His lips move in silence as he trains his focus on the storyline, just like he always does.

He's so indulged in the book that he doesn't realise his door quietly sliding open and a figure crouching down as it makes it way stealthily towards his bed.

Just as Jeongguk reaches the peak of the chapter, one that's meant for lots of drama that he absolutely can't miss, he hears the sound of a water bottle falling and his shoulders jolt up. He's wide alert, even more wide awake, as he lowers his book. What he sees nearly gives him a heart attack right then and there.

"What are you reading?" Park Jimin is leaning over his bed, looking up at him with wide and innocent eyes. Jeongguk nearly throws the book at him in shock. But he treasures his book so he decides that screaming would be a better option. And Jimin flies over and puts a hand over his mouth to shut him up.

"Oh my God, I'm sorry. It's me, Park Jimin. You were just so focused on your book I didn't want to disturb you," Jimin said in hushed panic. Jeongguk looks up at him with confused eyes and shakes his head in a gesture for Jimin to let go.

Just when he thinks he's finally seen a demon once in his life. It's just Park Jimin, glowing like an angel in the dark. Save for the messy fringes that fall over his face.

"I didn't give you a heart attack, didn't I? Oh God, I shouldn't have done that, I'm sorry," Jimin blurts out frantically as he examines Jeongguk's body. Jeongguk just nods along and waves a hand at Jimin to signal that he's fine.

"Wh-When did you come in?" Jeongguk asks when he's finally regained his composure.

"Just a minute ago. Don't worry, I wasn't stalking you," Jimin answers with a sheepish grin. Jeongguk thinks that he and Yerim resemble one another, in a way. Both of them just give off the feeling of comfort with just a simple smile.

Jeongguk props himself up straight against the bed frame. "What are you doing here? It's," he pauses and looks up at the clock hanging on the wall. "4 o'clock in the morning. Shouldn't you be asleep?"
