"Get him out of the woods safely, he doesn't need to be here" the rumbling of the beasts voice could be heard from the other room where Tobias was, he was laying down on the bed with a bandage on his gashed arm. He just laid there repeating everything in his head, the beast simply could've killed him, it would've been the best way to get rid of him and no one would ask questions. Both him and his father being gone, he could've just left. Unless Simon spoke up.

Tobias boldly got out of bed with a wince, his eyes shot down to his feet that were wrapped as well from the cuts he'd gotten from the ice and snow when they were numb. They hurt. But he couldn't stop and be a sitting duck, he had to do this.

He took a few more steps until he was able to open the door with shaky hands, his stomach was knotted up and he was pretty sure he was going to lose his breakfast but he had to swallow back his fear as each step he took lead him to the room where the voice had come from. He lifted his hand to open the door but before he could even do that, a loud throaty growl came from behind the door. It wasn't as nearly terrifying as the growl he'd emitted towards the wolves. This was was more— painful. There was a near whimper coming from him, it was truly terrifying and heartbreaking at all once.

Tobias didn't know why, but he'd felt a pang of guilt wash through him. He shouldn't feel guilty that he really caused the beast to get attacked by the wolves, because he had his father. That didn't make any sense to him but he didn't care. He felt guilty. So he swallowed thickly and pushed through the door, he saw Linton and Mauro standing over the beasts bed where he was laying. He could see the bright crimson color still seeping through the clothes that were covering his many wounds.

"Get him out of here" The beast snapped in demand towards the other two, they turned to look at Tobias before taking a few steps towards him as if they were going to force him out of the room.

"Wait, let me speak to him for a minute" Tobias's voice was very timid and quiet, he looked up at Mauro with pleading eyes as he towered over him like a large tree. It made Tobias feel like the smallest thing in the room.

Mauro looked back at the beast for instructions on whether or not to kick him out of the room or not, but to his surprise he gave him a nod to let him speak. Linton and Mauro gave each other a silent glance before exiting the room so they could speak in private, and Tobias wasn't very thrilled at the thought of being alone with him.

Once Tobias heard the large door slam behind him, he jumped a little from the noise then began to walk a little closer to the beasts bedside, but still distancing himself out of gripping reach. "Are you going to speak? I can smell your fear, it's pungent." the beast spat out.

"And I can sense your pain, and it's pathetic" Tobias snapped back which shocked the both of them. He cleared his throat and looked down at his own feet since he knew he wasn't in any position to snap back that way, but if he was going to come at him about his fear, then he was going to do the same. "I'm sorry, that was uncalled for" he said quietly. "I-it's about my father... he's old, he doesn't have much time left on this earth as it is and I wa-"

"He stole from me, there's nothing that will change what he did and there's nothing that will change my mind" the beast cut him off, he seemed stubborn but so was Tobias and before the night had ended, he was going to change his mind.

"What if I stay until your wounds are healed? I can help the others take care of you" Tobias said, his nerves hated him for that and he was shaking inside more than ever. He felt as if his legs were going to give out on him and he was going to collapse right then and there. But he couldn't let himself be seen as that weak, even if he could blame it on the immense pain that was throbbing through almost every part of his body.
