-------------------------------------------------------------
Eesha opened her eyes. She was in a brightly lit room with the atmosphere and smell of a hospital. A man wearing black jeans and a blue open denim shirt was sitting next to her. She looked up to his face. He had blue worried eyes.
"Oh thank Jesus! You're awake." Nick spoke.
Eesha managed a smile.
"So, it was you who saved my life?"
"Yeah. You went in a hurry so I followed you. By the way where is your mom?"
Eesha's expression hardened. She shook her head.
"Oh.. I'm deeply sorr-"
"Its okay. Please don't mind, but I want to rest a little."
"Okay no problem. I'll pick you up from the hospital later on. Just give me a call."
Eesha nodded in approval and Nick slid off of the stool, waved his hand, and left.
Eesha tried to get up but the wounds still hurt. "GREAT" She thought. She felt her pocket, she still had the dagger her dad had given her. She had started keeping it ever since he died. She closed her eyes and after 10 minutes, sh heard the same voice. The same voice she had heard when the garage had collapsed. But this time, it only said one word; "Hi."
"ALL THATS? HAPPENED AND ALL YOU SAY IS HI?!" Eesha screamed at the top of her lungs. Her eyes were bloodshot. There was no answer.
"ANSWER ME! Wh- Why.. couldn't you save her. Please tell me. Please" She cried. Tears were streaming down her face.
"I am powerless against that curse. Don't worry. We will surely find a way." The voice echoed.
"A way for what? Can you bring my parents back? CAN YOU?" She waited for an answer, but again there was no reply.
Eesha opened her eyes again. A nurse was standing beside her with a worried expression on her face.
"Im sorry for barging in but I thought I heard screaming."
"No, It's nothing. Thank you for the concern."
"No problem, the doctor says you can leave anytime you want."
"Okay, thanks again." Eesha smiled.
Eesha flexed her arms. They suddenly felt better. She could move them and they didn't even hurt. "Is it him again? That voice?" She thought.
She reached for her other pocket and got out her phone. She dialed Nick's number. He picked up instantly.
"Hello?! You alright?"
"Yeah.. I'm fine. Pick me up?"
"Right now?"
"Yeah."
Suddenly the door opened and Nick entered the room.
"I never left." He said, rubbing the back of his head with a full teeth smile.
Eesha smiled back. She was starting to like him.
Nick held Eesha's hand as they walked to the car. Eesha tripped a few times but Nick held her tightly. They finally managed to get in the car. Eesha was sweating like she had done an intense workout.
Eesha thanked Nick and then they were on their way. Nick drove the car and they listened to Donald Duck's speech on the radio. Eesha had been so absorbed in her own life that she didn't even know what was going on in the world.
She asked Nick everything and she got to know many things. For example, that the US elections were coming up and that a tornado had destroyed half of Texas. It was good stuff. Eesha actually enjoyed her ride back home. They parked the car next to the destroyed garage. Nick held Eesha's hand to support her till they had finally reached the living room. Nick set Eesha down on the sofa. Eesha could move her arms well enough but couldn't walk on her own.
"Coffee?" Nick offered.
Eesha replied. "Sure."
Nick went into the kitchen and took out two cups and made two fresh cappuccinos.
" Two fresh cappuccinos. SERVED" Nick said serving Eesha coffee.
They sipped their coffees slowly while watching T.V. They were watching cartoons. They both happened to love cartoons.
"More coffee?"
"No. I'm fine."
" 'Kay."
Eesha looked at the time, it was 8.30. The cursed Jar was resting next to the T.V. Eesha didn't know how it did that. Last time Eesha saw it, it was in her room. She looked at Nick. His eyes were also fixed on the jar.
"Should we open it?"
Nick gazed into Eesha's eyes for a second, contemplating, then nodded.
Nick stood up and grabbed the jar. There was only 1 chit left. Who could it be? All of her family was dead.
Nick and Eesha unscrewed the jar together, Nick took out the last chit and unfolded it.
It said, "Nick."
It was at that moment that Eesha realized how much she loved Nick.
"No.. No.. NO. THIS CANT BE HAPPENING!" Eesha cried out. Nick hugged her tightly to him to comfort her.
Eesha was crying while Nick smiled.
"Why did it have to be you?"
"Crying won't solve anything. Just enjoy the time we have been given together."
Eesha hugged him back.
"I love you."
"I love you too." Nick said with a not-so-happy smile. Eesha leant forward to kiss him.
Nick closed his eyes and backed down.
"I'm deeply sorry.."
"Sorry for what?"
Nick stood up and raised his arms. The winds started blowing and thunder struck. The door opened and a black shadow, as fast as lightning, Entered Nick's body. Nick opened his eyes. They were pure red. Slowly, like a magic trick, his clothes changed to a black robe, that of the murderer. His face turned older in a matter of seconds, more vicious and dangerous.
"It was you!?" Eesha screamed in horror.
"I am sorry."
"Sorry doesn't cut it you know." Eesha said angrily, trying not to cry.
Anger was bursting inside of her. She wanted to kill him.
"What about Al! I Thought you were friends! An- and what about Rowan, my mom, dad and Wania! Why did you do this! How did you escape jail, an- "
"Oh those weaklings couldn't sustain me. It was as easy as eating pie."
Nick smiled, his eyes still red. He raised his right hand and a sword appeared in it. He threw it towards Eesha.
What happened next was not clear to Eesha, a blinding light between them had appeared and somehow blocked the sword. After it slowly disappeared, Nick was nowhere to be seen. A boy of about Eesha's age stood in front of her, with white hair and a half burnt red face, holding the sword in his left hand.
He looked towards Eesha, who was scared and had somehow escaped death, and smiled.
