Chapter 32 Beautiful Sadness

Rumples POV

I've got her back. Almost. If she'd wake up.

Even when wearing a hospital gown she still looks beautiful.

Plus all the cuts and bruises...

How could he do that to her, if he 'loved her'. I couldn't live with myself if I ever harmed her like this!

I leaned over onto her bed, my elbows right beside her and traced her face with my finger, gently trying to avoid all of her injuries.

They wouldn't let me see her at first.

She was just sped away on a hospital trolley. I had no idea what was going on. All i could do was scream her name as, Charming and Red restrained me from following.

The only noises in the room was Belles heart rate monitor and her soft breathing.

But it was staggered and it kept changing patterns, and sometimes she wouldn't breathe for a couple of seconds.

Every time it did happen, my own heart stopped and every time I was sure I was going to lose her.

But every time without fail, she would breathe in again and my heart would carry on.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I first walked in.

One of Gaston's men was crumpled on the floor and Gaston himself was....he was....beating my poor Belle...beating my poor Belle to death...

In that moment I couldn't control myself. I didn't care what happened to me, I just had to get him off Belle.

Suddenly her eyes flicked open, she screamed and flinched away from my hand.

"Belle! Belle it's okay! It's just me! You're safe! It's me!" I said, standing up, leaning toward her.

She stared at me, panting...and then her eyes filled with tears.

What has he done to her?

"Rumple?" She said, perfect tears rolling down her bruised cheeks.

"Yes it's me, you are safe now!" I said, my eyes filling with tears as well.

She leaned forward and hugged me.

Hugged me as if she would never let go, I know I certainly wouldn't.

But suddenly she crumpled.

Tears streamed faster down her cheeks, her grip on my shirt was so tight.

What had happened to her? What had they done?!

I stroked her hair, trying to hold back my tears as she fell apart in my arms.

Slowly, I laid her down, and climbed in beside her.

She reapplied her grip on my shirt and buried her head into my shoulder.

I kissed her on the forehead, wanting her to know that I love her and will never let her go, not ever.

After a while she was asleep, her white hand laying limp on my chest.

"Mr Gold?"

I looked up, surprised.

Dr Whale?

"Can I have a word?"

I looked down at the sleeping Belle below me. I don't want to leave her, but he looks worried and it's probably important...

Kissing her on the forehead again, I carefully slip out of the bed, and gently pull the covers to her chin.

I'll be right back my love.

Dr whale shut Belles hospital room door behind me.

"I can't tell you how pleased I am that Belle has been found, but sadly...not unharmed..." He said gravely.

I stared at him, willing him with my eyes to go on.

He took a deep breath.

"As you saw yourself, Gaston threw a lot more than a couple of punches towards Belles stomach....it was far more than one too many....and I'm sorry to inform you, but because of the number and impact if the injury... Belle will no longer be able to bear children...I'm so sorry..."

The ground fell beneath me.

Belle will be crushed...

She's always wanted to be a mother...

No...

She didn't deserve this!

"I'll let you give her the news..." He said sympathetically, patting me gently on the back as he walked away.

I stumbled back into the room.

I was frozen as i watched her.

Totally unaware, that someone has ripped away a part of her future, our future.

This will kill her...

I fall to my knees, this isn't happening.

Not to my Belle.

My poor, poor, beautiful Belle...

No children for Rumbelle...yet.....

These last 3 chapters are the saddest but probably my favourites!
