The third Chapter: The query

Dhine sighs as she reaches home. She prepares a smile. "I'm home!"

"Glad you already come home dear." Her umma smiles at her as Dhine gives her a hug.

"Oh? Where is Yoogeun umma?"

"He is taking his afternoon nap." She can see worry in her mother's eyes.

"What happened? Why do you look so sad umma?"

She hears her mother sighs. "Your son... He asked me about his appa."

"Mwuh?"

"I pity him dear. He asked me earlier when I fetch him in his nursery school on why his friends have an appa while he does not have one. And one thing too, his school will be having a family day by next month. He was hoping that he too could bring an appa like his friends. Ottokhae dear?"

She sighs as she heard it. She also doesn't know what to say to her son. She knows that her son is a smart one that is why she sent him this early in a nursery school. "Molla umma." She looks to her mom with worry face. "Maybe I should go for the lie that his dad died due to war. I don't want him to hope for a father umma when he does not even have one in reality."

"I understand dear. It is up to you since you are his mother."

Not long after, her son gets out from one of the rooms in their house. He is smiling widely while it is obvious that he just got up from bed.

Her worries suddenly go away. "How is my baby boy?"

"Great I am umma. A song sings by halmeoni that is why sleep I am." Her son giggles as he reported it.

"Chincha? Halmeoni sings a song for you?"

"Ne."

"Then what should you tell to your halmeoni then?"

Yoogeun faces his halmeoni and hugs his halmeoni. "So much thank you halmeoni."

"You are welcome dear."

Her son faces her with innocent yet curious eyes. "Umma?"

"Yes?"

"I do have an appa?"

The words struck her. "Ahmm... Ah." She looks at to her mom. "Appa?"

"Hmm... Little boy, why don't you let your umma change her clothes first before she will answer your question while you come with me coz' halmeoni will be preparing snacks for her little boy."

"Waah! Snacks!!!" The excitement for foods shifts his son's attention.

"Yaaa! Aigoo, just what are you thinking?" Dhine is startle to hear Hana's voice.

"Mianheyo mam." She puts her attention back to her work.

Hana pats her table. "Ya, come on. What is it?"

She pauses from what she is doing and looks at Hana with teary eyes already. "Yoogeun..."

"Ya, what happened to my favorite?" Hana said in panic.

"Nothing happened to him mam, but... Like what we feared, he is now asking about his father." She sighs. "I... I just don't know how to answer him. I am planning to stick with the idea that his father died during the war."

"Ya, why don't we look for his father Dhine dear? Why do we have to lie?"

Her mood suddenly changes. "Like I've told you mam, it was more on a one night stand. I don't even know him."
