The last light of the sun shimmered on the lakes clear surface. The last smells of the summer day filled my lungs. As the suns orange glow faded, stars appeared in the endless darkening sky. I exhaled. Here, I could find peace. No worry, no stress, no pain or heartache. Here, I could be myself, not what people want me to be. This was the only place where I could truly relax. But it never lasts. Like the sun, the pain and heartache will come back.

Nothing ever lasts.

But yet, here I'm at peace. Here. nobody cares who I am. The sun doesn't care, nor do the stars. They don't care who I am. They don't care about what I've done. They don't care. They all rise and set for everyone. Only people care.

Only people care that I'm Draco Malfoy.

The sky is now dark and the moon is slowly rising into the sky. I sighed. Father would have expected me to be back by now. I stood up and took one look at the lake. The stars and moon were reflected off of its smooth surface. I sighed, knowing my moment of peace was over. I turned and slowly made my way back up the hill to the Malfoy Manor.

.....

"Draco." Fathers voice drawled coldly as I entered the dining hall and sat at my place. "Your late."

"Sorry Father I-" I started, but Father cut me off with a sharp look. I bent my head down and looked at my plate. I slowly started eating.

"Dobby." Father said coldly. I choked on my food. Father gave me a look. I swallowed and resumed eating. Not again...

The elf Apparated beside my father with a bow.

"Yes, Master Lucius. What do you require today?" Dobby squeaked.

"Draco was late..." Father said. The elf's eyes flashed with fear, then filled with sorrow.

"Yes Master Lucius." The elf walked over to the wall and started banging his head against the wall. He did this for about a minute before bowing painfully and exiting.

.....

I finished my dinner and quickly excused myself. I walked down the hall and walked into my room. I locked the door behind me as I entered.

"Dobby." I whispered. The elf apparated in front of me.

"Yes, Master Draco?" He bowed, but flinched in pain.

"Please don't bow when it's just me around." I said quietly. He nodded and stood strait up. He swayed on his feet.

"What is it that you require sir?" Dobby asked.

"Please sit." I led him over to a chair and helped him sit down. I picked up a pitcher of water and poured a cup of water. I gently handed it to the elf.

"What is this for sir?" He asked after he drank the water.

"Your hurt because I was late. I don't think that's fair. I want to help you in any way I can." I told him truthfully. He blinked then tears welled in his eyes.

"Thank you Master Draco."

"Please, just Draco."
