Grayson's POV:

A month has passed since our house burned down and we're all healed and doing well. The new house isn't as big as the old one but you know, it's something. I haven't really spent as much time in there since I started working again recently, but Ethan has been home the whole month. He only leaves the house to go buy groceries or furniture that he thinks  is necessary to give the house a better aesthetic. He's decorated the entire house and may I add, it looks really good. I'm glad I was able to get him out of that house. I honestly wouldn't know what I would do if something happened to Ethan that night. I don't want to live without him ever again. Tomorrow is out anniversary and I'm planning on cooking a nice meal for him. I want to show him how much I love and appreciate him.

"Yeah so can you like, help me keep him out of the house tomorrow in the afternoon?" I asked Sofia, my friend who's also a teacher incase you've forgotten, as I unlocked the door and pushed it open, letting her go in first.

"Well of course I can!" She said, excitedly. The house was quite, which was a little weird.

"Ethan?" I called out, not getting an answer.

"He's probably out in the store or something," She told me as she walked over to the kitchen, probably to fill a glass up with wine.

"No, I don't think so. I mean, his car is in the driveway," As I put my stuff down, I heard the worst, chilling scream ever coming from the kitchen.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" I ran towards the kitchen and stopped next to a shaken Sofia, looking down onto the floor in disbelief. Oh. My. God.

Ethan's POV (10 minutes ago):

I was sitting on the sofa, thinking of what I could do for Grayson tomorrow. Tomorrow is our anniversary so I wanted it to be something special, since well, I haven't really been present for many of them. Or for any actually. It's ok I wanted this to be special for my Grayson. I think I'm gonna make him a cake. And then have sex with him. But right now, I have to go check if I have the right ingredients to make it. I went to the kitchen to check in the fridge and the cabinets. I looked out the window for a brief moment and saw a little puppy in the backyard. What the fuck? Why is there a random puppy wandering around here? I got closer to the window to try and see the dog better but then, someone popped out of nowhere from the bottom of the window.

"Agh!" I yelled, backing away from the window. The man looked familiar, but I couldn't tell who it was. I honestly just kept staring, tryna figure out who it was. Suddenly, it hit me. Eric? It couldn't be. He's supposed to be in jail. Once he realized I knew who he was, he raised his arm up and pointed a gun at me. I was frozen in place, remembering what had happened to me 12 years ago.

*Flashback*

"Look, I don't know ok? So stop asking me because-" I said as I turned around to face him, my heart dropping as I looked at Eric.

"Surprise" He said, with a smirk on his face. It was him. He was the one in the building with a weapon.. a gun to be exact. "I told you you were gonna pay". I turned my head, looking for the teacher, when he covered my mouth with his hand. Since we were in the far end of the wall, everyone was facing forward.

"Hru-mmhm-hjsjlido" I tried to talk but it only came out as weird sounds.

"What's wrong" Grayson said as his eyes became wide. Eric then raised the gun and pointed at Grayson, so was frozen.

*End of Flashback*

I couldn't move. All I could do was think about Grayson. I closed my eyes and seconds later, I heard a gunshot. I opened my eyes to see a bullet hole in the window and I felt my surroundings get darker before I collapsed backwards. As I layed on the floor, I only thought one thing: When is Grayson getting home?
