God, our tiny apartment is such a mess. My boyfriend, Zach, is picking up pizza so I might want to use this time to clean up a bit before I get too lazy.

I grab my earphones, plug them in my phone and play my music loudly to drown out all the surrounding noises and keep my self entertained. I grab the broom from the utility closet and start off by sweeping the living room. I sing along with the lyrics falling off my lips in unison to the singer, but slightly off key. I gather all the dirt and dust and sweep it right on to the dustpan discarding it. I move on to the kitchen as a new song starts to play called "Basic Space" by the same artist.

"I'll take you in pieces , we can take it all apart, I've suffered shipwrecks right from the start"

As I'm singing away to my hearts content, I hear a noise.
"Hm, Zach must be home."
I thought. But then the lights went out, it must be Zach, for sure. Another one of his schemes to try and scare me.
"It's not funny, Zach!"
I yelled, growing impatient. Hopefully that'll make him appear, so I can have some of that delicious pizza. I heard a thud coming from my left. Okay... This is odd, he would usually pop out by now laughing. I slowly slid my phone out of my pocket and started ringing Zach. If it's really him in here I should be hearing... "RING!" followed by a
"Fuck!"
I chuckle at yet another failed attempt of scaring me.
"I thought I could really get you this time!"
He said angrily, stepping out of the bathroom. "You're such a loser."
I said, pulling out my earphones. He sticks out his tongue and heads over to me and gives me a quick peck before hastily walking to the couch, putting the pizza on the coffee table in front of him and grabbing a slice of cheesy goodness. I do the same as I think boys and their giant appetites...
"You can't scare me, I'm fearless."
He smirks and I wink back at him.
"Maybe I should just gather up some cockroaches and let them run loose around you."
I frown and move away from him. Zach laughs and steps even closer to me,
"I'm kidding, cutie pie. Plus, it would be a pain to get you to clean them up afterwords."
I hit his chest in protest but he just smiles and I forget about being mad at him.
"You're a dork, you know that?"
I say obviously not mad anymore. He smirks and whispers just above my lips,
"Yeah, but I'm your dork."
I can't help but take a bite of the pizza right front of his face.
"You drive me insane!"
He yells and pick me up bride style. I laugh and close our bedroom door with my foot.

So much for cleaning day...
