It is said that friendship is a friendly relation or an association as friends (according to dictionary.com) But isn't friendship something more?
Aren't friends supposed to be there for each other whenever they can? Aren't friends supposed to warn friends about certain things and encourage good things? Aren't friends supposed to have the final say on if they should buy that shirt? Aren't friends supposed to listen to each others problems? Aren't friends supposed to give good advice to one another and take the advice?
At least that's what I think friendship is. Is it true? Or am I just some idiot who doesn't know anything about friendship?

"Let me get this straight, you mean to tell me you are going on a date with Luke Hemmings. The Luke Hemmings I specifically told you to stay away from. The Luke Hemmings who walked into me and didn't even dare to say sorry. The Luke Hemmings that called me 'the new girl' which you know is my biggest pet peeve on this friggin earth. The Luke Hemmings I told you was an asshole." I said pissed off through the phone.
"Whoa. Chill girl. He's actually really sweet! Ugh, I though you would be happy!" Kriselle said.
Bruh.
That's what they all say. Until they get their heart broken.
"Kriselle! Did you not hear me at lunch! He's an ass! I'm would be happy for you if you were going on a date with someone else! Of all the terrible guys at our school, you choose Luke." I said angrily, pacing back and forth in my room.
"Well.....you wouldn't know what he's like you're new!" She shot back. I stopped pacing and just stood in place in my room, my mouth open.
"Shit." I hear her mutter through the phone. I stayed silent, swallowing hard on the lump in my throat. She sighed. "Look, I'm going on this date tonight whether you approve or not."
"Fine. I can't wait to see you on Monday to give you a big 'I told you so!' " I said before hanging up the phone falling onto my bed and covering my face with my hands.
I groaned, pissed as ever. How could she say that to me?
This is why I question friendship. I feel that tv shows, movies, books, etc, tend to overexaggerate friendship. They don't show the big picture. They don't show the detriments of friendship. And believe me, they are tough.
I sat up and texted Skylar.
To Skylar: Can you come over tonight?
From Skylar: Sure, let me just tell my mom before I go. Text me your address?
To Skylar: 2438 Marrow Lane. (it's not real) Thanks. See you soon.
I tidy up my room beforehand because it's Skylar's first time coming to my house so I don't wanna look like the lazy girl who never cleans her room (even though I actually am) After, I go down to the kitchen to get some snacks, finding my mom reading a book as per usual.
"Mom, Skylar's staying here for the night and then we're hanging tomorrow, too. Is that okay?" I tell my mom, taking some snacks from the pantry.
"Sure, just be back for dinner tomorrow." She said before resuming her book.
I replied with a soft 'mmkay' before I hear a knock on the door.
"It's me." I heard Skylar's voice say.
"Coming!" I yell from the kitchen. I grabbed two waters from the fridge before going to open the door.
"Hey! Thanks for coming. Mom this is Skylar, Skylar this is my mom." I introduced.
