Delaney's pov
We were all back on Alpha's private jet with everything packed and ready to go. Everything else in the house is being brought by a cargo plane. Alpha will sell someone the house and put the money in Julie's account so we have something when we get to California. The ride wasn't exactly silent. They all tried to make me laugh but all I did was sit next to Julie and tried to sleep. It was hard when you knew the person who was suppose to love you is in love with someone else. I knew deep down I always wanted a mate but I was scared. It's my fault that we aren't together. It's my fault that I am sick. I guess sometimes it's better to live alone then with someone else.
"Come on Del. At least smile a little. Please. We are going far away and you get to do specialized training and it will be fun." John said crouching down in front of me. I wanted to smile and tell him this is a good thing but it was almost physically impossible for me to do that.
"John I wish I could tell you the good things. I can't though." I choked out. He gave me a sympathetic smile.
"It's okay Del. At least come join us and let Julie rest." He said holding his hand out as he stood up. I took it gently and he brought me over to the group. They didn't go silent when I joined them which I am thankful for.
"How are you holding up?" Becca asked sitting next to me. That seemed to be the hardest question to answer but then it occured to me that since when did I feel so sorry for myself. I am Delaney freaking Oaks! I am a strong girl who doesn't cry over a guy even if he is her mate.
"Better." I said with a small smile. I will no longer think about him. I will move on and go back to the old Delaney.
"Do you mean that?" She asked with a pointed look.
"Of course. Remember I didn't want in the first place. The only thing now is dealing with my illness." I said with a smile. She smiled back at me.
"We will help you." She said firmly.
"Delaney why don't you give us your input about this discussion we are having." Cydney said with a smile.
"What's it about?" I asked with a smirk.
"If we started a pack who would be the alpha or at least what would our rankings be?" She asked excitedly.
"It would basically go off of characteristics. Take John for instance. He is funny, caring, strong, charming, and protective. He would make a great Alpha. If I take your characteristics then I would see great Delta material. You are loyal, protective, strong, and creative. Beta would be a little tricky because there are at least three people who be a great beta. Becca, Harry, and Victor. They would all make good beta's due too their similar characteristics. They would make good warriors too but Adam would make an amazing head warrior due to his strategic abilities. It's all about who you are that gives you your ranking." I explained with a smirk as they all looked at me amazed.
"Where would you fit in?" They asked at the same time. Before I could answer Harry answered for me.
"The secret weapon." He said with a smirk.
"How would I be the secret weapon?" I asked taken back.
"You have a lot of strength when you are angry. It's like having a hulk on our side. Which is a good thing." He said making sure he didn't offend me. I laughed.
"I like the sound of that." We all started to laugh.
"What if for emergencies purposes we make our own pack. " John said suddenly. We all looked at him curiously.
"We're joining another pack. I don't know how they would feel about that." Becca said with a frown.
"But think about it. None of us know what rank we are because none of us knew our real parents. What if we were too create our own ranks and that way we know our place in this world. " He explained with a crazy look in his eyes.
