Delaney's pov
Smoke was thick and my cough wasn't getting better.
"Mommy?! Daddy?!" I yell out into the Smokey night. I run through it all but nothing was clearing. I heard no voices and it was as if nothing else lived except me. I ran and ran until I tripped over something. I look at it to see a wolf that had blood dripping from a hole in its head.
"Delaney time to get up!" Julie my guardian yelled. I sighed but got up anyway. Another day another seven hours in hell. Yes I refer to school as hell. I drag my lazy ass off my bed and to my bathroom so I can brush my teeth and wash my face then to my closet to change into some actual clothes. Soon enough I find a red dress and a pair of black tights. I change into it. I pick out a pair of black ankle boots before heading to my vanity. I know what your thinking. Why is she wearing a dress to school if she hates it? Well it's comfortable to me. Plus I'm not the average girl who worries about looks. I really could give two shits as to what people think of me. I put on eyeliner, mascara, and red lipstick before brushing out my mangy blonde hair. I deemed myself good enough before grabbing my shoulder bag for school and walking downstairs. Julie was in the kitchen per usual. She took in many people almost like an orphanage but she had no mate to share it with. Her mate had died a long time ago. She doesn't like talking about it so she just brags about us kids. I'm the rebel of the group. I'm the problem kid. No one ever questioned why or how I turned out this way. They only care that I'm alive.
"Bye Julie!" I yell before walking outside with my car keys. I had a Jeep for the sole fact I love the freedom I feel when I drive it. As I drive to school I keep the windows down and the music blaring. It was fall and it smelled so good in the air. The only thing that left me sour was going to school. I watch the leaves that were turning colors fall gently to the sidewalks. Nature is the only thing that's ever made me feel happy. I mean don't get me wrong I'm thankful to have Julie but she's not my parents. I drive into the schools parking lot with a blank face. Of course the boys do their cat calls as I get out of my Jeep. I roll my eyes and flip them off as they laugh. I walked into school with confidence as usual. People notice me but I was not popular. I was an outsider and that I was fine with. For a long time I consider becoming rogue just so I won't have to live with attachments but Julie somehow always managed to convince me not to go. I had several anxiety attacks when I was younger due to my nightmares but I don't have them anymore.
"Miss Oaks!" I heard someone yell my name. I look around just to see my shop teacher. Mr. Westing. I walk over to him.
"Yes Mr. Westing?" I asked with some respect. He was a teacher who I held the most respect for because he never bullshitted us.
"I need to take a meeting during 7th and I was hoping you could cover for me. You know I hate subs and you are one of the best students." He said with a small smile. I smiled at him.
"Sure Mr. Westing. What plans did you have for today?" I asked with respect.
"Well I was thinking of a work sheet but what good does that do so you may go out into the shop just make sure that nothing idiotic happens." He said with a bigger smile.
"No problem on that Mr. Westing." I said with a small respectful bow. He was apart of the warriors which was more to say then me who had no place.
"Oh Miss Oaks please don't bow. I already know you respect me plenty." I smiled.
"That's very true." I said with a small smile. He smiled.
"I know it is. Well I best be letting you get ready for class." He said gently.
"Yeah wouldn't want to be late." I said grimly.
"It would be a shame." He chuckled before leaving back to his classroom. I continued my walk to my locker as I saw the bitch patrol walking by me without a leader. That's strange Rita was usually with them. That's when I saw her making out with some guy on my locker. Ugh I am gonna have to boil my own locker.
"Rita can you go make out with your new boy toy somewhere else. That's my locker that I will now have to disinfect."I said bored. She looked at me with pure anger.
"Jealous much Delaney? I mean I can't put it past you. No boy will ever love you."She said hoping to hurt my little feelings.
"Is that a promise? Haven't you learned by now Rita? Unlike you and your pack of sluts I don't need a man to be happy. So listen well Rita. Take your boy toy and your STD ass away from my locker." I hissed at her. She glared at me before stomping off with her boy toy in hand. Thank goddess she left. We have always hated each other and that I know will never change. I open my locker and grab my books for Math. No I don't have friends and no I don't have a mate. I would like to keep it that way. As long as graduated I will be fine. I hear the first bell and knew I better that I should hurry or I will never hear the end of it.

Time Skip: 7th period
====================Yes it is 7th period which means I am going to be bossing around a bunch of idiots. I walk into the classroom and set my bag in the teachers chair.
"Delaney are you stupid? You can't put your things in the teacher chair." A jock who's name I think is Daniel said with a smirk.
"Unless I am the teacher today." I said with my own smirk. His face fell. I looked down at the desk to see a note from Mr. Westing to the class. I picked it up and tossed it to Daniel.
"What makes you so special?" He asked angrily.
"The fact that I have a brain." I said sitting on the desk.
"That is such bullshit!" He exclaimed walking up to me.
"Now now Daniel. I have the key to the shop and we all know you need to finish that big project today." I said with a sly smile. He glared at me but sighed before going back this seat.
"Continue Miss Oaks." He hissed at me.
"Thank you Daniel. Okay I know we are all here except for one. Go on out and I will join you in a minute." I said sternly. They all filed out into our shop. I was about to call in the student that was missing when he came through the door along with the most intoxicating scent. Oh no. That's when I heard the word I never wanted to hear.
"Mine." Oh hell no.
