"Jason, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Clara Hayes is very likely a good person. Someone who never wanted to do anyone any harm, like any other rational person. But there's nothing rational about Obsessive Compulsive Disorder." Monkey suit explains.
Dr. Reid inputs, "Research suggests OCD involves problems in communication between the frontal of the brain and the orbital cortex. Plus deeper structures. The basal ganglia."
"You won't be able to reason with her because you can't reason with her problem. She doesn't want to set the fires but she has to." I explain sadly.
Gideon looks at us, "What are you trying to say?" He asks.
I look down sadly, "Dont try to convince her to stop, because you won't be able to." Monkey suit states.
-
"Oh, my God." I gasp in realization.
"What?" Dr. Reid questions as I run out the door and toward the science building.
I pass by Monkey suit and yell, "The third floor of the science building is under construction!" He starts to run with me. We run up the stairs and make it to the third floor where Clara is holding a match and rocking back and forth on her knees.
"Clara. Clara, you don't have to do this, all right?" Monkey suit tries to calm but she shakes her head.
"I have to do this." She states and I shake my head.
"It's not rational, Clara, you know that. That's what you tried to tell him." I respond and she shakes her head.
"God chose me to be tested, and now He's chosen them. If I don't do this, something terrible will happen." She tells us.
She starts to lower the light but Monkey suit asks her, "What's gonna happen, Clara? A flood? An earthquake? You know this isn't rational."
She closes her eyes in pain and pulls back slowly saying, "I know. I know. I know."
"Then fight it!" I encourage.
She cries, "I can't." I hear the others pleading for her to listen but she says, "They must be tested. God's wrath..." I pull out my gun and aim.
"Clara, you told me it was a Chemistry student. You left the message about Charown." Monkey suit tells her.
She starts to repeat, "Charown, Charown, Moloch."
"Clara, you don't want to do this." I tell her.
She ignores me and mumbles, "Father, son..."
"Clara..." Monkey suit warns.
She raises her hands and cries, "Holy Ghost."
"Stop!" I yell.
She says struggling to speak, "God chose them." He shoots her before she can drop the light and Gideon stops the light from rolling into the elevator.
"I thought you said not to reason with her." Gideon states and I chuckle.
-
"You carry a gun, why?" Gideon questions as I walk with him through the airport, I was offer a job by the BAU and I'm taking it.
I chuckle and say, "Master Sargent Amanda Audie, at your service. Technically, I am no longer a Marine, just a civilian. Quite boring if we're being honest. I served for three years." He looks at me and chuckles.
-
"Hey! What are you doing here?" Dr. Reid questions making everyone look at me.
"Gideon put in a good word for me at the BAU and I was offered a job." I explain.
The bald man says, "Well, I'll be d*mned. Welcome to the team." He shakes my hand.
Gideon warns, "Don't even try, she was a Master Sargent in the Marines. Anyway, I put in a good word because she found out why the why the Footpath killer stuttered. You should all give her your names."
The bald man steps up, "Hello, Kit Kat. I'm Derek Morgan. Call me Derek." He introduces and winks at me making me blush.
The lady steps up and says, "I'm Elle Greenaway. You can call me Elle." She shakes my hand.
Monkey suit steps up, "Aaron Hotchner. The team calls me Hotch." He shakes my hand and Dr. Reid comes up.
"I-I am Doctor Spencer Reid. You-You don't have to call me Doctor though, Reid or-or just Spencer would work fine even-" He stutters.
I cut him of saying, "Hi, Spencer. I'm Amanda."
-
I walk past Spencer and Gideon playing chess and see Spencer will have him at check in three, I move one piece on Gideon's side, take off Spencer's and say, "Checkmate." I yawn and sit next to Spencer, curling into a ball and falling asleep.
