Maya's POV

"Maya?" Riley asked.

"Hmh." I hummed looking up from my nails to her face blankly.

"Are you and Lucas okay? Are you okay?" She asked cocking her head to the side.

I shrugged, "Why wouldn't we be?" I asked, clearly annoyed she is asking the same question again.

"I didn't know you guys just are different. Maybe 'cuz you both are avoiding everybody." She said sarcastically.

I shrugged again looked back down at my fingers toying with them, hoping she would just forget the conversation.

"Maya, seriously come on!" She said nudging me.

I really didn't want to talk to her about me and Lucas. Or what Lucas did. I don't want her to get hurt.

"What!" I snapped.

Riley flinched at the tone of my voice.

"Sorry," I apologized, "just what do you want me to say? Every time you ask that why do you think your going to get a different answer? Where both fine."

She furrowed her eyebrows at me and I looked away. Riley opened her mouth to say something but luckily I was saved by the bell to next period.

Riley groaned, "This conversation isn't over." She said and sighed.

Me and Riley cleaned up our so called "lunch" trays, though I don't see anything that actually looks edible on this tray. And as usual, I didn't eat anything but my chocolate cake.

"So, what class do you have now?" I asked, changing the subject.

"Health." She said expressionless.

"Ugh," I groaned, "I hate that class."

"Really? I think it's helpful." Riley said.

We both started to walked back to our lockers.

"They teach us some weird stuff. Who knows what where are learning today!" I exclaimed.

"I'm sure it's nothing that bad. And besides, we only have this class once every two weeks." She said.

"Yea, because we are learning something, then having an assignment that takes like two weeks." I said.

I sighed and we walked back to our locker and took out our health books.

"Seriously though Maya. It's not that bad." Riley said.

I groaned and slammed my locker shut. Riley followed and we walked to class without talking.

"So as you guys know, in order to make a baby, a guy and girl have to..." Our Health teacher Ms.Leon explained.

I had zoned out about halfway through and without even knowing I was doodling in my sketchbook, hearing nothing more than a muffled jumble of words.

"Maya!" Somebody called and I looked up to see who it was. Ms.Leon was calling my name, trying to get me to pay attention, as usual.

I sighed and closed my sketchbook, giving her all of the attention I possibly could right now.

"When I guy and girl want to have sex without intentions to get pregnant, you might know that you have to use a condom. You could do that a thousand times without using a condom, and the girl would get pregnant about only 1/3 of the time. This is the most common thing that has guys and girls your age going through teenage pregnancy. Other times, the condom can break, but that is very unlikely. I'm not saying any of you are doing this now, and not am I saying you should do this, but this is very useful information for the future..." Ms.Leon said and continued talking.
