Audrey's POV

I walk out of the classroom to see Tyler walking towards me. That's what he wanted to talk to me about. Why does he care about what grades I get? He should be going off to all the cool parties and meeting girls. Why did he want to sit in a room full of textbooks and number 2 pencils with me?

"Hey. Did you hear the news?"

"Yeah, I did. "

"I wanted to tell you earlier but you wouldn't listen."

"Yeah, I know. I have to go. We don't have to do this tutor thing. I can just study harder, and you can be off to another party with another pretty girl."

"You should be thanking me right now Audrey. If I hadn't stepped in, you would have to be studying with Thomas. And I know for a fact that he was already planning things he was going to torture you with."

I stay silent, knowing that he is right.

"Plus, I can't just ditch you and go to a party I don't even want to go to. And clearly the studying isn't working for you or you wouldn't need me in the first place. I guess your teachers see potential in you or they wouldn't even give you a tutor and they would just let you fail."

"Exactly! Why do they have to care about me so much? Maybe I was meant to get bad grades in school. You never know. Probably everyone thinks that I don't deserve them anyways so why try? I am just the girl who get bullied by jocks like you."

"Hey, that is not true. You are an amazing girl and I think if you really tried and got a little help from me, you will be able to get straight A's in school. Why do you think so little of yourself?"

Maybe because I was always told that I was just a mistake and that I was just a waste of space. I was told that from my own father. And I have to hide my talents from everyone just to try and fit in. I thought but just answered with an "I don't know."

"C'mon let's go to your house and start studying."

"Well, we can study but I still have to watch Kyle and Ellie. So I might be a little disracted with them."

"That's fine. We can do both at the same time. I can help babysit while you do your work."

"Oh. You don't have to babysit them, I can do it."

"No, I want to do it. They seem like cute kids. And it sounds like you don't get much of a break, so today should be your lucky day."

"How do you know that I am always watching them?"

"You just always seem like you hang out with them a lot."

"Well I do, but it is worth it to me. It's better than not seeing them at all."

We reached the house and I was still trying to figure out how I was going to fake that I didn't know any of the material, and "magaically" get better at the homework and tests.

"Hey, Aud." Ellie said coming up to hug me before Tyler came into the room.

She then looked at him and stared for a bit. Then she asked "Is this your prince charming that came for you?"

Before I could say something Tyler cut in. "Yes, I came to sweep Audrey off her feet and ride off into the sunset with her."

He picked me up and I let out a squeal. "What are you doing Tyler? Put me down!" I say with a half giggle.

"I have to ride off into the sunset with you. Come on Ellie!"

Kyle comes into the room to see the three of us. "What's going on?"
