London. Sarah.

In quick succession, Gerry explained Will about the drugs and new equipment, but Sarah had settled on a dark green, scuffed leather chair and was lost in thoughts. She wondered how many times Jack or Will had sat here and prayed for each other, based on who was laying injured in the room.

Will had kissed her.

No, she thought.

She had kissed him.

But she did not regret it, Sarah remarked in surprise. The door opened and everyone came in. First, Caroline and Oliver with Jack, then Tom and Diana. Only Juliett had not appeared with the apology boiling tea for everyone.

There was blatant joy on Jack's face as he jabbed at Will and hugged him.

"Why are you crushing me with your body?" Will's slightly subdued voice drifted across the room.

Jack laughed.

"It's a hug, Will. I hug you."

The two separated, but Jack still stood beside Will and gave him a fraternal look. This again showed the opposites of the two: Jack, so meek and loving and Will so bitter and beautiful at the same time.

Caroline laid a maternal hand on Will's cheek and Oliver and Tom nodded to him with a short smile. Diana held herself in the background, with a fathomless look in her eyes. Her fingers were tightly hooked so that her ankles came out white and her bun was so tightly tied back that her forehead seemed to be strained.

Sarah stared at her in confusion and then focused again on Caroline, who had sat down on Will's opposite bed, holding pen and pad in her lap. She looked depressed and relieved at the same time.

"Will, do you feel fit enough to let us know what you still know about the attack? Even the smallest details are important, you know that. Later you will also have to create pictures of the attackers. In addition, Scott will be dropping by tomorrow to question the interrogation."

Will rolled his eyes.
Sarah already knew that the interrogation was a rarely used method of a polygraph that only few people knew how to do - including Scott. He does this with everything the consul wants to know the truth about. What exactly was done there, she would see tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Will had put on a gray shirt, which Jack had brought him.

"Of course I can. I do not have to mention that my shoulder is reminiscent of a torn rosette? But let's start with the most important question of the day: why did I even wake up?"

When Caroline glared at him, he grinned at her, revealing his white teeth. Then his facial expressions hardened. "The second one who attacked me said that it would be better if I changed sides. After all, they would be superior to us in the near future with new weapons." He clucked dismissively with his tongue.

Jack smiled wistfully. "That's one of the downsides of being the best agent, huh?"

Sarah had already noticed that in part. Will was the best agent of all in his generation. He was incredibly talented in fighting, logical thinking and had the best final exams. Almost everyone who knew about the institutes knew him. Whether with good or evil views is an open question.

It was waiting for Caroline to write down everything carefully. In the meantime, Juliett brought the tea. Then he continued, "He brought me a warning. If we do not stop the investigation against them, something bad will happen."

"Pirenfer," Caroline and Jack said at the same time. "That was my guess," Caroline hung darkly. "This .. this .."

"Bastard? Nothing good upstart? Completely completet idiot?" Will said, seemingly enjoying the whole thing, and Sarah noticed that he avoided her gaze. „Anyway, he did not mention the parcel trick with a syllable, he just talked about the research."
