A Wole New World(Chapter 1)
I'm not one to believe in fairy tales trust me my life has been everything but a fairy tale, but beyond what you believe there's a whole new world. Brighter than you know, somewhere around the Atlantic ocean there is an island that that you would never believe in. Beauty beyond your beliefs. A world underneath the sea and on the land.
It all started one day when I was on a private plane flying over Florida taking a trip around the world. The most beautiful thing anyone will ever see. The captain's name was Joe. So it was just Joe and I solo. I had brought my camera and a few memory cards because I'm a half time professional photographer, so taking pictures this trip was top on my list, very important.
Early one day a big storm rolled in and everything got foggy. I seen lightening all around us, the wind got to be terrible. It thrashed the plane around, making tremendous sounds as the hail hit the side of the plane. I watched the captain frantically grabbing at devices trying to get out to his commander and all he gets is static. "Captain is everything ok?" I scream trying to yell over the noise."I don't know I," and then he gets cut off by a loud 'BANG' coming from the back of the plane. "What was that?" I yell back nervously.
Captain didnt answer me as he striked different buttons. Then it happened again the loud bang, now I began really freaking out. Suddenly the plane started to shake, like we were sliding on gravel. Captain tryed to use the backup radio "K 44 Sr. We're going down Sr. WE ARE GOING DOWN!" At that point I was sobbing so loudly I could not hear what else he had said.
Next thing I remember, was waking up soaking wet on the shore of a beach. Still did not know exactly what had happened. I tried to lift my weary body off the shore; just to let myself fall back down. I felt extreme pain in my lower right leg, but I couldn't quite get myself to look. My body ached. I couldn't move it hurt and I didn't know where I was. I was trying to put the pieces together in my mind. Last I remembered I was on the plane and a storm rolled in.
I knew I had been hurt pretty bad, but I couldn't move. I forced my self to turn on to my back. I could see what looked like our plane to the side of me. It was in two pieces and was surrounded by a patch of rising smoke. I lifted myself up halfway and tried to reach for my leg, which I was happy it was even there. Twisting myself around to see how bad I was hurt, I found the light blinded my eyes. The light sparkled off the water so bright and beautiful; it almost made me forget that I could have been hurt pretty bad.
Turns out my leg had been sliced open really deep, and I thought I could see bone. If I didnt stop the bleeding when I did, I may not of survived. I ripped the sleeve of my t-shirt off and wrapped it tightly around the wound and then completed it with a double knot. As I studied my surroundings, I tried to gain an understanding of what had happened and where I was at.
Slowly I stood to my feet, and instinctively looked for clues to where I was at and if I was in any kind of danger. I assumed it was an island immediately, because the water stretched as far as I could see to each side of me; which would make the water the ocean more than likely. I kinda dragged my right leg and made my way to the water; it looks crystal clear with different glimmering colors. I leaned over to splash some water on my face and taste it from my lips. " Salt water," I mumbled realizing I'm talking to myself.
I stood back up and stared at the smokeing plane. So I put together what I knew; there was a storm, the plane crashed, my leg is badly cut, and salt water seems to surround the land I believe is an island I'm on. I start to walk toward the plane consciously making sure it's safe. I headed to the front to see if Joe had survived. Then I heard agonizing groans, as I made my way around the plane I came into sight with Joe. He's barely alive and quite unconscious. I tried tugging the door open, but it's jammed. I yanked on it some more, but it still does not budge. I need to get in there to help him not only that, all my things are in there.
So I went to the back of the plane where it is split into two, and climbed through the small opening trying not to touch anything with my leg. I just barely fit through the opening. Climbing to the front I see that Joe could be hurt more than I could see. I reached around him to pull the seat back but it didn't work. It's probably a good idea to get him out of here with the plane still quite hot. I don't want something else to go wrong, I thought to myself. I looked around for an easier way to get him out, because the opening I got through wouldn't be big enough for me to carry him out. The side door might be to bent and broken to even try to get open, but its the only thing I can think of. So I fumbled with the handle and then jerked it towards the back. Instead of opening the door it fell to the ground like it was never on in the first place. I placed his left arm over my shoulder and half dragged him out the door. I thank God that he isn't not big, because if he was much heavier I might have not made it out the door with him.
