Lola knew how to party, everyone knew that. But before you could party all night, you had daytime duties first. And one of the most important ones in the Valdez household was breakfast.

"Don't forget the whipped cream," Cora reminded Adam as she finished placing blueberries on a stack of pancakes they'd made specifically for Lola. She chuckled quietly as he lifted his hand from the other side of the islanded counter to reveal a can of whipped cream in his hand already.

"Rock paper scissors to see who gets to wake her up?" Adam asked as he popped the cap off the bottle. "Hey, you already drew a smiley face with your blueberries! Not cool, Cora."

"Chill out. I'll go wake her," Cora put her hand up and walked off, missing Adam adding fangs onto her smiley face. "Buenos dias, hermana," Cora said in a soft voice as she slowly opened the door.

Lola groaned as she stretched out, kicking the covers slightly to reveal she was wearing a white tank top. Her brown curls rested on her shoulders as a smile spread across her face when she noticed her sister. Cora wondered how on earth there was someone who looked as beautiful as Lola did, a complete mess in the morning without makeup or brushed hair, yet Lola still looked like an angel.

"Buenos dias. How are you?" Lola rubbed her eyes.

Cora chuckled. "You're asking me that? You, the birthday girl?" she took a seat on her sisters bed, crossing her legs since she was wearing a dress.

"You're right," Lola hummed, sitting up. "Desayuno?"

"Aqui, I've got it," Adam came in with the tray in his hands, opening the door with his leg. "Don't like, help me or anything."

"Oh, pero por que? Eres lo suficientemente fuerte," Lola pouted, earning a head tilt from Adam. "Pancakes! Did you guys make these?" Adam and Cora both nodded. "I love it! Thank you guys," she hugged Cora and Adam leaned over to give her a kiss.

"What's the plan for today, sis?" Cora flipped her hair in front of her shoulders and began parting it down the middle to make two braids while Lola and Adam began explaining the plan for the day.

Cora liked seeing everyone together, even if they were a little loud or a little moody. These people were considered family, as much as she liked it or not. The party had already been going on for a couple hours now and it was beginning to get dark. Since it was the day before the fourth of July, fireworks were laid out on a table to light soon. Another party would be held at the exact same time the next evening, but that didn't mean they weren't going to make this one count.
