basically he was dragged into an expedition into a tomb in Egypt. The people he was with lost their way and they all got trapped in the tomb, losing their mind and hearing voices. They started to believe that they had been cursed to stay trapped in the tomb unless they killed someone who was of pure heart and well, Trof being the only sane one and the nicest (as well as the bonus of being a virgin) got picked to be killed. They dragged him over to a pit of spikes as he kicked and screamed and cried before pushing him down into the pit. The rest of the group never did escape though so it was for nothing.
there was a curse though and it was what made Trof an egyptian demon in the afterlife. He doesn't remember being killed though or ever being alive so yeah
