Stepping into the golden hall, a light hit my eyes. Darkness was strung out across this god forsaken world, and yet, it was bright here. A soothing light, in a way. Admiring each sparkle throughout the hall, I knew there was no time to waste - I had to finish the job. I took a deep breathe, feeling cold eyes staring into my soul. Pulling out the knife I had newly acquired, I made my way down this hall of gold - the judgment hall. Keeping my head down, a slight smile spread across my face. In a few moments, this'll all be over and never again would I have to set foot here again. Halfway, in the middle of the room, was my destination. The only thing that lay between me and eternal darkness.

A figure up ahead made a low chuckle sound - I knew that voice anywhere. He was quite short for his age, but I suppose he made up for it by, what he called, being big-boned. Of course, that of all things, was pun to him. It felt like he believed his life was a joke. Perhaps it was. Wouldn't you think that if you had no control over any of your life? Every day would play out, then the next would be the first all over again. My power to reset this world never got old, not in my opinion. But there was someone outside the timeline. Someone who remembered each reset like it was an old memory. He knew of my power, but I didn't know of his.

I learned through this that first impressions can be deceiving - he knew more than he was letting off. He was more than hewas letting off. I didn't let this stop me. In fact, there was no way to stop it now. I was too far deep - drowning in it. Never had I stopped to think "What would happen if I go through with this? How will it all end?" Now, there was nothing more I could do except press on. Face my crimes. Face my sins in the hall of judgement.

We stared each other in the eye, though, I was never really sure if he had any. His eyes were soulless. Black and hollow. He had no iris - he had no pupils. Just black voids in in face. "Here we are. Finally." he spoke. His voice was monotone, not a hint of expression. "You've come a long way, kid. So much effort just to see what happens. You had your perfect ending - we were happy. But you reset." He laughed, the signature smile on his face. "I knew this day would come. The day you kill us all. I stopped trying to prevent it what seems like years ago. But you still caught me by surprise." Spinning the knife in my hand, I smiled a smile only seen on the devil. "But, enough talk. You want to get on with it, and I can't blame you. You wanted a fight? Let's fight." His left eye lit up with a vibrant blue light. It seeped out like mist out onto his skull. With a click of his bony figures, he attacked. Giant bones appeared from thin air, instantly charging towards me. Swiftly, I dodged out the way and was only grazed by the surprisingly sharp bones. They landed on the tile floor, cracking it slightly. Wasting no more time, I charged at the skeleton, knife in hand. As I attempted to strike, he slid out the way. "Want some glasses, kiddo? Looks like ya' need them." the skeleton teased. I growled at him. Pesky little-.

My train of thought was interrupted when I was suddenly thrown into the air. Looking over at him, the smuggest grin was on his face. I was slammed on the ground, the walls, and the ceiling. Falling to the ground, I yelped in pain. I pushed myself up, groaning. Blood was trailing down my face, but it didn't bother me. Charging once more, I had the same result. Charge, dodge, attacked. What was his game? Why was he the only one who dodged? There was no time for questions or answers. All I needed to know was that I had to succeed, otherwise this would never end. Fortunately, I was learning. I learnt his pattern. The faster I got and the more I knew, the more he grew tired.

He panted - something he physically shouldn't be able to do. "Well...you're getting better at this game." I knew this would turn into another joke on me. "But please. Let's stop this. Let's end this, you can reset! Regain your happy ending. Don't you want that?" He made me question my own reasoning. Did I really want to finish this? Of course I did! I needed to see how it ended. But...did I need to? Did I just want to? "We can end this right here right now. All you have to do, is put down the knife." I began to shake. He was getting to me. Tears ran down my checks as he spoke. We had such a nice ending. Then I went and ruined it all. Dropping the knife, I fell to my knees, tears flowing down. I gave up, just like he did. "That's it. Let it out..." I heard him. All of sudden, a pain shot through my body. I looked down, and there were several bones piercing my skin. The world grew dark as he loomed over me. All the pain had left me - not a cut nor a bruise left on my body. The bones slowly faded away as I was stuck in the endless black once more.
