Y/n
"So then he brought me home and before he left we sat on my swinging bench talking for another hour or so and, y/n... it actually was the best part of the entire date," my friend, y/f/n, explained to me with a daze in her eyes.
"Ok, then what happened?" I push curiously and she continues.
"Then, he stood up and and he grabbed my hand to walk me to my door. We stood there, but the silence wasn't even awkward, y/n, it was a comfortable silence. Then... he came closer to me and put his hand on my cheek, making me look up at him and thinking "this is it"," she explains and I listen closely as she continues once again, but with a sigh of contentment.
"Then there they were... his lips were against mine and I felt the most ridiculous butterflies in my stomach when he pushed me up against the door. His hand was trapping me and as my hand was on his chest... I could feel his heart beating just as fast and hard as mine," she bites her lip and I look down feeling a sudden burst of sadness in my heart.
"T-Then?" I stutter as I feel a lump slowly develop in the back of my throat as I feel myself wanting to cry.
Why am I feeling this?...
"When we pulled away, it was like there was some kind of..." I heard her talk, but her words slowly faded out as I went into a state of silence.
My hands all of a sudden began to shake and my heart began to beat faster as I felt my mind and heart sink into a pit of sudden loneliness. I try to focus back on my friend that was still talking, but my mind couldn't concentrate. I feel the tears begin to brim over my bottom lashes, but y/f/n didn't notice as her phone began to ring. The obnoxious ringing was enough to bring me back to focus, but my heart just stayed sitting in the same pit.
"Ok, mom, yeah I'll be there," I hear her say into her phone and I realize that she now has to go.
"I'm sorry, y/n, but my mom wants me home now," she says and I could see the genuine apology in her eyes.
"Oh... n-no worries, y/f/n... it's late anyway and I'm already a bit tired," I reassure and she smiles while giving me a hug as we stood up.
"You gonna escort me or not?" She chuckles playfully and I can't seem to bring myself to smile.
"Uhm... yeah," I answer and her smile slightly fades.
"You ok, y/n?..." she hesitantly asks and I just nod my head and manage to pull off a fake smile.
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine, I promise," I smile and look her in the eye.
She bought it and smiled once again, but I could see it in her face that she knew something was wrong with me, but she didn't want to bother with the subject. We link arms and I take her downstairs to her mom. I say my goodbyes and turn around to walk back to my room. Before going upstairs my mom stopped me and pointed out my mood.
"You feeling ok, hun?" She asked concerned and once again, I put a fake smile on.
"Yeah mom, why wouldn't I be?" I smile and she smiles back.
"Ok, well why don't you invite Shawn over, so you won't be alone," she says and a genuine smile plays on my lips at the mention of him.
"Yeah... that's a good idea, but I don't wanna bother him," I say and she looks at me with a "really..." look.
"Ok ok, fine... I'll call him later," I say and she smiles.
"If he comes late, then just make sure you go to bed close to a reasonable time, ok dear?" She says and I nod.
