How did you find out about Wattpad?
I originally wrote and read on another site. One day I was reading my favourite story and she updated saying she was no longer going to write on the other site that she was now moving to a site called Wattpad. So, I checked it out and fell in love! I made an account on May 24, 2011.
What or who is your inspiration?
Everything that affects how I feel whether it be music, family, friends, or a movie inspires me
You seem to have a very unique personality and it shines throughout your books, does this help your creativity?
I don’t know … Maybe … I am not sure what helps with my creativity and writing. All I know is that when my fingers hit the keyboard, I feel at home and I don’t think as I write … I just let my mind spill out …
Your book 'I Dare You! / I Got You!' is based on the life of you and your friends, are your other books based on real life experiences?
Yes, my story Daddy Has A Shotgun, But You’ve Got My Heart that is based off of my friend Maddy and her overprotective family. It also has part of me in it, the main character is burned and has scars, so do I. Ummm, as for my other stories, yes and no. I find that my character’s personalities and ways of life derive from my friends and family.
What made you write a book about you and your friends? (Apart from the fact that you all have awesome personalities)
I love to write, so when my friends and I got dared to do something crazy and stupid by Maddy’s sister Lisa, we all turned it down. But I was thinking about what if we accepted the dare, what would have happened. My imagination got the better of me and I ended up twisting our lives and experiences into a story…
Do you have a favourite author?
Yes, I have many, but my top two are Margret Michelle and Shel Silverstein
Do you want to pursue writing as a career option?
Yes, I do. I was thinking after my senior year of high school I would retire from Wattpad and collect all my stories … edit them and fix things here and there. Then I would like to try and publish them. But that is two years from now, taking things one step at a time.
Do you have any favourite books on Wattpad?
I’ve got many! I read a lot on here and there are so many I love! I can’t point a virtual finger and say that is my favourite there are too many! DON’T MAKE ME PICK!!!
Do you have any advice for other authors on Wattpad?
Need more inspiration check out: http://www.thestorystarter.com ... You might laugh for an hour at the random free to use story ideas on there, but something might come to you. Oh, and when fame hits you on here, don't ignore people. Be nice, chat and always THANK YOUR FANS FOR FANNING YOU. I have over 2,000 fans and I have thanked every single one of them.
Did you expect the fantastic response to your books?
No, as a matter of fact I have gone on my page and been like, “Oops wrong profile”, because I didn’t think it was me with all the likes and fans. I had to do a double take. It shocks me that people actually like my work, but I am happy if I can help someone escape their life, even if it is just for a chapter … And if they like it, it’s even better!
What does writing mean to you?
The world! I don’t know what I would be doing without writing --- Without Wattpad for that matter.
Do you have any inspirational quotes that you would like to share?
When a monkey hands you a banana … run.
Would you like to say anything to your fans?
You guys (Fans, readers, commenters) don’t even begin to understand how much I appreciate and love your support. I have my down moments when writing and to pick myself up I turn to my fans and commenters and they just bring me up and make me want to write!
