How did you find out about Wattpad?
I was searching online for e-book stories and came across a world of online groups like Wattpad, search after search and BAM, I roamed across Wattpad!
Your ‘Crimson Rose’ series is a favourite of mine, where did you get the inspiration from?
I've always had a thing for vampires and vampire love stories. The inspiration came from a few other vampire books I started to read on here and then I just mixed it up a little on my own.
How did you think up of the name ‘Crimson Rose’?
As people probably know, I always make changes to the series, whether it be the cover, the title, a part of the storyline. I wanted something a little edgier, crimson (for the colour of blood, and Rose, Roses are red, Rosie happens to be the name of my main character, ta da! It leaves it a little more to the imagination too I like to think.
You got a phenomenal response for that particular series, how did it feel?
I wasn't expecting it at all either! It was amazing to know that something I'd written with my own little mind was actually loved. It makes me very happy and proud to know that people enjoy it and look forward to more.
You’re writing ‘Crimson Rose, Kayleigh’s Story’ at the moment, how is that coming along?
I did have a few chapters posted already, but really didn't like how I'd started it. I've recently posted a new start, which I'm very happy with, I just hope it's as enthralling as the others.
People (well, I definitely was) were moved by Rosie and Duke’s relationship in the Crimson Rose series, is that based on observations and facts or just inspiration and creativity?
I've read a lot of love/magical stories, and the love plots and story lines never really satisfied my thirst, so when I wrote Duke's and Rosie's I added as much suspense and detail as I possibly could.
What does writing mean to you?
It releases my mind, all the while bringing others into the world I imagine inside my head. 'Art is not what you see, but what you make others see' - Edgar Degas.
You recently changed the name of your Crimson Rose series, they were called The Undead series beforehand, why did you make this change?
I'm a very picky person, never 100% happy. Undead seemed too obvious, and I wanted something more edgy and dark. A fair amount of vampire books have Undead in their title, I want mine to be as different as possible.
I personally loved Rosie’s character, is there any characters that you can relate to? Any characters that you’ve modelled after your own characteristics?
I can relate to each character, and as odd as it sounds, I probably relate to Duke the most. He's standoffish around people, easily agitated, bad-tempered, that's me all over! Besides from that, the only other one I've moulded around myself would be Rosie's looks, which are similar to mine.
Do you have a favourite author?
Cara Lynn Shultz. Her novel Spellbound, is the best yet I've ever read!
Can you give any advice for other authors on Wattpad?
It's about how writing makes you feel, and a few fans that enjoy your books are still a great success over being the 'popular' book.
Do you have any books that you would recommend would definitely have to be read on Wattpad?
Dateless and Deadly by Jules130, Playing Evelyn by Jules130 and The psychic Next Door by YvetteRussell.
Have you ever considered a career in writing? Have you ever tried to get your books published?
All the time! I'm a pretty lazy person to be honest, so I have never looked really that into it. It's a big dream of mine though.
Have you got anything to say to your fans?
Thank you, honestly. The support has been amazing, and I'm glad that I can bring them into my world and share my imagination. Never give up, keep at it, if it's something you love, go for it.
Do you have any upcoming stories or chapters we should be looking out for?
At the moment, I'm trying really hard to get Kayleigh’s story posted and a few chapters through, I've put my fans through enough waiting I think!
