Chapter 20

"can we talk ?" Taehyung spoke in a whisper, scared of your answer,

Haejin understood who he was so he pulled himself aside and waited for you,

You couldn't talk, words were stuck in your throat, tears threatening to escape your eyes which were fixed on Taehyung's,

"pl-please ?" he added nervously,

You watched his eyes filling with tears, begging for your answer,

As much as you missed hearing him calling your name, as much as it was hard for you not to run to him and hug him, you couldn't but remind yourself of what he has done to you,

"I have nothing to talk about with you" you managed to talk after you gathered up your courage,

"I know you're mad but please hear me out first-" he started to explain but you cut him off,

"you're late... you better not come here again, understand ?" you said coldly and started walking away,

"y/n, please hear me out, I didn't want- y/n please, let me explain" he started walking behind you when you ignored him and walked to Haejin,

"let's go" you told him and he followed you too,

"y/n please, I would've never done that if I didn't have a reason- y/n please listen to me"

Your heart sank as you ignored him and got in Haejin's car,

Never in your life have you thought you'd do that to him and never in your life have you thought you and him would end up in such a scenario,

You couldn't lift your head to look at him, all you heard was him pleading you not to go and to listen to him,

Haejin looked at you as if he needed an order from you to start his car,

"can we go ?!" you annoyingly raised your voice on Haejin as you couldn't bear hearing Taehyung's voice calling you,

He started his car and quickly drove away,

You hesitantly looked at Taehyung's figure through the side mirror and you couldn't hold your tears anymore,

You hid your face and cried your heart out, part of you wanted to drive back to him and beg him not to leave you again, but the other side reminded you of the day you waited for him in your wedding dress,

Haejin didn't say anything,

After some time, you stopped sobbing and wiped the remaining tears away,

You felt the car pulled up and hesitantly took a look at Haejin,

"why did you stop ?" you asked him, trying to seem you were fine,

"I don't know where to go..." he answered honestly,

"we're going to eat" you stubbornly said and looked away,

He didn't talk or move, he knew you weren't in a mood to eat out,

"why didn't you talk to him ?" he carefully asked,

You froze at the sudden question and turned to him surprised,

"what ?" you asked him with wide eyes,

"why didn't you talk to him ? I know you wanted to" he boldly talked again,

You struggled with what and how to answer him,

"you're mad, and hurt, but you need answers-"

"I don't need anything ! I don't want anything from him" you raised your voice again, trying not start crying again,

"he said he has reasons, don't you want to know them ?"

Haejin wasn't trying to make you sob again, he saw you were hardly holding yourself from screaming Taehyung's name, he's the only one who witnessed your tears after the night of your wedding,

"it's too late ......" you whispered, not being able to look at him,

"it's not y/n, I don't know him and I've never seen him but I can tell he loves you, he didn't care about anyone, he begged you, he cried and the only one he cared about was you, don't you think there must be something wrong ?" he softly spoke, he tried to make you change your mind,

".... Where was he when I needed him the most ? he better have a reason......t-the least thing he could've done...was .....was being with me, just being with me, all I needed was to see him, if he doesn't want to marry me, let it be ! but at least he should've been the one telling me, does he know how much I cried ? does he know how much I was worried about him ? does he know how it feels.....when the love of your life....gives up on you...? He doesn't, because he wasn't there" you talked with tears in your eyes,

Heajin listened to you carefully and he understood why you didn't want to talk to Taehyung,

But actually no one can understand what you were feeling, despite everything, you still wanted to be in Taehyung's arms, you still needed him and you're still madly in love with him.
