My hand hits the sounding alarm on the bedside table next to me. I look at the time and realise it is 6am and I have to get ready for school which stars at 8:30. It doesn't really take me that long to get ready but I like to watch TV before I leave.

I reluctantly step out of my bed before washing my face and having a hot shower. I wrap a towel around my body and proceed towards my closet. Eventually, I pick out some denim jeans, a white shirt with a necklace and a light grey knitted cardigan. I put my hair into a simple pony tail before walking downstairs and switching on the television which comes up with some show I had never seen before. I forget that the channels are different here, in London than my home town, Michigan. I sigh and press the power button before heading back up to my bedroom. I grab my phone, laptop, notebook and pencil case before stuffing them in my bag and returning back downstairs. I check the time - it's now 7:15am.

I get some milk from the fridge and pour it in a bowl along with some muesli and fresh fruit. I find a spoon in the drawer and sit down at the kitchen table and eat my breakfast while checking my phone for any text messages. Realising that I had none, I check my Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. I laugh at an irrelevant teenage post before placing my phone in my pocket and continuing to finish my muesli before cleaning my teeth. I check the time again and see that it is 8.

"Bye mum!" I call as I slip on some white converse.

"Brie, do you want a lift to school?" She yells back.

"No I'll walk. Thanks anyway. Bye!" I reply before slipping outside and shutting the door. I push the white headphones into my ears and walk along the street to the beat of the music. After a 15 minute walk, I turn into my new school, reading Canden High School. What joy.

Walking through the gates is like walking into a shopping mall. There is lots of running, yelling, screaming talking, basically there is a lot of noise. I walk into the administration building and speak to the receptionist.

"Hi, I'm Brie Sampson and I'm new here. I just transferred from Michigan State School." I say.

"Welcome Brie!" She says as she types my name into the school computer. "Wait, did you say Brie was your name. We have no record of a Brie Sampson."

"Oh well my real name is Sabrina so maybe it was put down as that." I offer.

"Yes yes it was. So sorry, Brie, my mistake. I should've looked more carefully and realised you had shoretned your name!" She laughs.

"Don't worry" I say nervously.

I hear a door open and see a brown curly haired boy walking down the hall of offices.

"Anyway, you have locker number 187 which is on the third floor on the right. Or maybe it's the left. Actually that depends what way you are walking but yeah I guess it would be the right wouldn't it? Providing you take the closest stairs and.." She blabs on to herself finally realising that she is making no sense. "Okay nevermind so remember, 187 third floor. Here is a key to open your lock Don't lose it otherwise you have to pay to get it replaced." She says.

The boy walks closer and is just about to leave the office when the receptionist stops him. "Not so fast, Mr Styles." She says sternly. "Your actions committed this morning will not go unnoticed. Don't think that just because your father is deputy principal, you can easily get away with this."

"I know." He mumbles not looking at her.

"Now please escort Miss Sampson to her locker. She is new so please welcome her politely. Off you go now." She says again. He nods.

I thank her before leaving the office with this guy. He walks about a metre in front of me as we climb two flights of stairs. He swiftly dodged crowds of girls and guys whilst I get stuck in them, lagging even further behind. I start reading the locker numbers and see 178, 179, 180 etc

I walk a bit further and see the 'Styles' guy leaning against it talking to a group of guys. He reaches down to pick up the sunglasses he just dropped when a see perhaps a tattoo peaking out from underneath his shirt. A tattoo? In highschool?

I reach my locker and wait for him to move so that I can open my locker. I reach in my pocket for the key and realise it is not in there. "Looking for this?" I turn around and see him smirking at me holding out the small key in his hands. I reach to grab it when our fingers brush momentarily. A hiver goes up my spine. "Thanks" I mumble and he nods back at me. A girl with blonde hair approaches me wile a girl with long blonde hair approaches me and starts to unlock the locker next to me.

"Hi, I'm Catherine" She says, "But you can call me Cat."

"Hi, I'm Brie" I reply brightly.

"Welcome to Canden!" She says and I laugh.

"Thanks."

The bell goes and out of the corner of my eye, I see 'the guy' and his group of friends start to leave.

I turn to Cat. "Who are those guys?" I ask'

"Ooh." she grimaces. "That's 'the gang'. Don't get involved with them. They are not your type, trust me.

"Yeah but who is that one?" I ask, pointing to the boy who took me to my locker.

"Oh, he's the worst of all of them." Cat says shakily. "That's Harry."
