"It's weird." Huey said the next morning as he sat down with Dewey, both pouring chocolate flakes into their bowls.
"What's weird. Every thing has been weird since we've been here. A famous relative, Webby, adventure, Louie having a crush on Webby maybe." Dewey said, his mouth full of cereal.
"Ugh you know what I mean! He's not turning into a monster like he is supposed to!" he said, punching his spoon into his bowl.
Huey took a huge crunch out of his cereal. "Seriously Dewey, something is up. The insulin that Uncle Donald brings is only for the next day, not for ever. So how is he doing it."
"I dunno. Maybe what Louie said about puberty and stuff could be true." Dewey said.
Huey sighed, fearing Dewey may be right. None of them had the plague as ducklings so maybe as they get older, his features (as a monster) may disappear.
"Hey guys." Webby said. She yawned as she made herself French Toast and putted a little bit of butter on top.
"Hey." both of them said.
"Soooo, anything planed for today?" she asked, taking a small bite of her toast.
"Well, we are expected to make our debut at a festival that needs royalty to start it." Huey said.
"Cool!" Webby said, her eyes brightening.
"It's not really," Dewey said. "All we do is hear Huey tell a 30 minute speech and then me and Louie cut the ribbon."
"Not to mention there is news reporters. They'll want to ask deep questions like why haven't we been doing duties as future heirs or what happened to our mom." Huey said.
"Plus we'll have to wear suits and act formal." Dewey said, sticking out his tongue at the thought.
"But it's a festival!" Webby protested.
"Yeah it'll be fun but not for the first hour." Dewey said. "It's just a festival for lights. Sure yeah the ending has been beautiful where we all release lights. Oh and don't forget the dance!"
Dewey began to do a series of dance moves as he had a pretend dance partner. Webby laughed and Huey playfully rolled his eyes at his younger brother.
Louie came in, yawning as he stretched his arms. He didn't look so well. His eyes were red and cruddy and he was coughing. He was also half awake and asleep. He poured a bowl of frosted cereal.
"Louie you don't look so well." Webby commented as Louie began to sit down next to her.
Louie only coughed. "No worry." he said in a raspy voice. "I'm fine. Just fine."
"Well if your fine, then you don't mind joining us to the Festival of Lights. Remember, we have to be here this year, no excuses." Huey said reminding his brother.
"No please no!" he said groaning. "I don't feel good."
"We don't have a choice. The media is expecting us this year. Uncle Scrooge does it every year and we are the ones to do it this year." Huey said.
"Please no," he said. "I wanna stay home.
"Come on," Huey pleaded. "It'll just be my speech...."
"Which is an hour long." Louie mumbled under his breath.
"We cut the ribbon and just have fun! So what do you say?"
Louie looked up. Dewey was nodding his head. Webby's eyes pleaded with him. Her eyes. The answer was clear, only if he took a small pill of Ibuprofen he'd be fine.
"Okay. Just lemme take my meds and we can."
Dewey and Webby cheered as Louie went out of the kitchen.
------------------------------------------------------
Louie lifted the toilet seat and began to vomit. It was red. He began to panic. Why am I like this? Was it the vial yesterday!? Ugh, I think I'm gonna......
He felt like puking but nothing came up. He took deep breaths as he went to the sink and took a small sip of water. He brushed his teeth and popped in some mouthwash.
After he went out the bathroom, he walked to his bedroom. His suit was all lined out for him.
"Not the gala suits again!" he groaned.
"Hey it was short notice," Dewey said. "Remember, take my advice on the loose bow tie. We'll be partying anyways so you might as well use it."
Louie groaned as he putted on the suit. Felt like plastic since it had a plastic lining.
"Hey guys! Nice suits."
Huey, Dewey and Louie all gasped as they turned their heads to see Webby.
She wore a pink dress down to her mid thigh with purple lining. On her wrist wore a fabric pink corsage with a purple center. She wore her signature pink bow as well but it was a lighter shade.
"Uhhhhhh."
"Wow."
"You look great Webs." Louie said, ruining the drooling of the Uhhhhs.
She blushed at Louie's comment. "Thanks but I was wondering if the dress is too much like it's not much of protocol that......"
"It doesn't matter," Dewey said. "It's just fine."
She smiled as she began down the stairs.
"Come on guys, before Uncle Donald calls us." Huey said as he went down the stair. Dewey began to follow him.
Louie looked through the mirror, he still looked a bit crappy but if he keeps this up, he might be fine.
"Hey wait for me!" he yelled as he ran down the steps.
What he did not know was inside the suit, in his arm, his red mahogany colors was spreading though his feathers.
