Sadie managed to catch the blade of the axe between her palms just before it sliced into her face. Her opponent yanked the weapon back, and this time she had the good sense not to hang onto it.
Her opponent stepped back to adjust his stance, but Sadie swung her leg around the back of his ankle, knocking him down. While he was disoriented she leapt on top of him, delivering two punches to his face.
He groaned. She needed to finish him off.
Her eyes caught sight of the axe. She thought it was rude that nobody had bothered to give her a weapon. Her opponent had his hand wrapped around the handle of the axe, but it didn't look like he had a tight grip. She wrenched the weapon free.
Without even thinking she took hold of the handle with both hands, bringing the blunt side of the axe down on her opponent's head. His body went limp almost instantly.
The crowd cheered.
