The One Behind The Gun

Sometimes it's hard to let go.

Of the ones we once held so close.

I thought we would always be together

Always tied together.

I would do anything for you,

Take a bullet.

And you would do the same.

Would you?

It used to always be just us,

Together.

Forever.

Now it seems like I can't reach you.

I can see you drifting away,

Further.

And further.

From my grasp.

But I still hold on.

To something I thought was important.

Something that was so delicate.

Something you didn't care for.

We were like a butterfly.

You touched the wings,

And it fell.

Now it's gone.

But now you're gone forever.

Completely out of my life.

As you drift further away,

I can start to realize.

You wouldn't take a bullet for me.

You would be behind the gun.
