"Okay class, as part of your test, you are required to pick a song individually and sing it in front of your section. Whoever has the highest points will the be representative of your class and compete with the other sections in your year level." the music the announced. "You'll have to perform it by friday. you'll have half the day off for the performance." he continued. Great. A new assignment that would at least entertain me. We decided on what chose to sing, I chose A Thousand Years by Christina Perri. Friday, huh. Today's Monday, i have around 4 days to prepare.

After i arrived at home, I sat down the computer, searched and printed the lyrics of the song and started practicing. Why did i even choose this song? I asked myself. Then it hit me. This song somewhat describes my crush for Yuuji. I decided to perform this song while letting out all my feelings. The next day, Yui was absent.

"She had to pick her mom from the airport." Aira explained. Then both Aira and Aiko decided to buy snacks while i was left at the table alone. I sat there with a poker face as an expression. then someone placed a cold drink in my face that startled me. I turned around to see that it was Shintaro.

"You can have it."he gave me a cold chocolate drink wich was ma favorite and sat down beside me in the table. I guess that it was just pure coincidence that he gave me one of my favorite stuffs. We sat there in silence for a while until he started the convo.

"So, have you seen this anime?"

"Not yet but i'm planning to"

and we continued to talk like 2 normal people, only that my heart was beating loudly. I was hoping he wasnt able to hear that. Before the bell rang, he stood p and left because he had something to do that was when i was Aiko and Aira just behind him. I felt my face blush.

"Careful, Yuri. You might catch a fever and collapse again." Aiko winked at me. We went back to the classroom again since lunch time was over. Once again, I dozed off in the middle of the class and looked down, with a small hope that Shintaro might be looking at my direction. Surely enough, he was. and the my heart started to beat wildly again. Dear heart, please don't break. He bent his neck again and I also did the same.

The following days were just normal. And so Friday came. My class and i went to the music room for the performance. Everyone gave out their effort into singing their own own, beautiful voice or not. As the performance ended, it was decided that I was the one who was going to represent the class. I don't even know why they chose me. All I did was sing my heart out.

"Since the exams are going to be next week, the second day of the exams is going to be a half day. It would be the time for your performance along with the othe classes" representatives. You're going to perform it in the auditorium, with the whole student bosy as your audience."  the teacher announced. Well that's good news... LIKE HELL I'D SAY THAT! Not to mention in front of the whole school! I might  be a rowdy type of person but I don't have that much confidence standing up on that stage alone while being watched by the student body. Just thinking about it sends chills to my back. But the exams huh... looks like I'm going to be classmates with Shintaro again. I started to smile and my heart started to beat faster.

Saturday was a day off. I decided to study on my on, not having a group study for the first time in my high school life. I drowned myself into reading and studyng the whole day, which was really unexpected. I didn't even open my Fb account for a second. I was pretty impressed of myself that i decided to treat myself to 7/11 and buy some snacks. I lined up and bought the biggest cup of Gulp they had, a hotdog sandwhich, and some chips. I sat there eating and texting. I placed my earphones and then listened to some anime music. I got so immeresed into listening that I coudn't feel that someone was poking me. I removed my earphones and saw  Shintaro. I felt like my heart would stop. He sat down beside me.

"Yo!" His smile just makes me want to melt.

"Yo!" goddamnit my heart's  palpitating. We both sat there in silence and then it started to rain.

"Looks like im gonna stay here a bit longer than expected." I said to myself.

"Same here." He said. I looked at him and then he looked at me and ended up giggling.

"So what brings you here?" he asked.

"I came here to buy snacks. That's all" I answered.

"Same." I can't believe the luck im having right now. I hope it continues this way.

"Yuri..." hearing him calling my name landed a critical hit on my heart. " I better go now. See you at school." then he stood up an left. I was too mesmerized by the fact that he talked to me that I didn't even realize that the rain already stopped. I finished my drink and went on my way home as well.

I turned on my laptop and started to stream some anime episodes. While waiting for it to buffer, i decided to read some manga online. Heroine Shikkaku. As I continue to read the manga series, the more I couldn't stop reading. I felt like I could relate to the main character's feelings. I finished reading the whole series around 2 hours, just enough for my 15 episodes to finish buffering. I had a marathon that night., but I coudn't get Shintaro's face out of my mind.

RING RING RING

Screw my alarm clock. after preparing myself, I rode the car and went to school. From the school gates, I saw Aiko, Yui and Aira. I dashed to them and headed for the classroom. We had homeroom for first period.

"Just so you know class, right after the exams which would end by friday, we'll be holding the family day this sunday. Please don't forget to invite your parents to come. and right after that will be your christmas vacation." our teacher announced.

So much time has passed since class started. I felt that just last week was the first week of class. Which reminds me i have to practice for the recital this friday. After class i decided to borrow the key to the music room from our teacher to practice. when i got there, I sat by the piano and started playing and singing. Just as I finished singing the song, I realized someone was watching. Someone was clapping.

"You have a really beautiful voice, Yuri." That's when I decided to turn around.
