"Oh, uh, I'm sorry.. I didn't.. I.." Josh stuttered. His face was pure red because of what he did.
Aaron blushed, "It's okay. I don't mind."
Josh sighed. Why did he always have to embarrass himself? Memories flooded his mind of all the crushes he had in his little homophobic town before he came to college. He had a huge crush on his classmate, Nathan, for years back in high school. He cringed at the flashbacks as he embarrassed himself in front of every cute boy.
Aaron awkwardly got up, walking to his side of the room and slipped on his shoes. He started to walk to the door.
"Where are you going?" Josh asked. Why would Aaron be leaving now?
"I'm going to get your friends." Aaron replied.
"You don't even know where their rooms are." Josh rose an eyebrow.
"I'll find my way," Aaron sent a smile, and Josh smiled back. Aaron went out the door, leaving a blushing Josh alone.
In a way, he hated Aaron. He was this cute motherfucker, and he was too nice to be Josh's friend. He helped him during the first day of school when his friends weren't there. He cuddled with him and now he's going to get his friends. He was a good pal.
Josh thought about what he should say. He didn't know what to say. He didn't even think that they would take him back. He was an angry dick at the moment.
Hmm.. dick..
Josh snapped out of his thoughts, laughing at himself. He needed to plan a speech before he ad-libbed in front of them.
He looked around the room, thinking of the correct words to say. But he couldn't think of anything. All he thought of was I'm sorry, and those two words seemed to be running through his mind.
Suddenly, the door opened. How did Aaron find them so quick? Did he even know where their rooms were? If he did, then he is a creepy fuck.
In came only Aaron. Josh didn't know if he should have felt relieved or sad.
"Did you find them?" Josh inquired, fumbling with his hands.
He had to admit; he was nervous.
Aaron nodded. "I did,"
"So why aren't they here?" Josh sat up completely on his bed.
"They.. wanted you to come there. They wanted to know if what I said was true."
"What did you tell them?"
"I told them that you were sorry, and were gonna man the fuck up to apologize. I also apologized. No one seemed convinced, except for that brown haired girl.. Name starting with a G?" Aaron answered, sitting on his bed.
"Gabby." Josh smiled to himself. He knew she would understand.
"Yeah. So, ya gonna go win your friends back, or what?" Aaron rested his chin on his hands.
Josh didn't particularly have a speech planned out, but he felt that it was right to apologize. Josh got up gingerly, not bothering to slip on some shoes, and walked down the hall to where he knew Gabby and Sadie's dorm was.
Aaron followed Josh and abruptly stopped as Josh froze in front of the door. His breath hitched. What if they didn't want to be friends with him anymore? What if Josh made a complete fool of himself? Honestly, Josh didn't just want Aaron to his friend. What if they fought? Who would Josh turn to? Maybe that girl Emma from the party, but he didn't count on it yet.
"What are you doing? Just knock." Aaron gestured to the door.
"You do it," Josh said.
"What? You can't knock?"
"I never said that. Its just.. I don't think I can do this," Josh admitted. He was still nervous on the impact.
Aaron rolled his eyes, bring up his fist to knock on the solid wood three times. He pulled back and gave Josh a look; who only sheepishly smiled back.
The door opened, revealing Gabby. She had her dark hair up in a bun and put on her glasses, but she still looked gorgeous as usual.
"Hey," Gabby smiled softly.
"I'm so sorry," Josh blurted.
Gabby gave him a puzzled look, and moved to the side to let them in. Josh walked in slowly with Aaron right next to him.
Josh's heart was pounding as he saw Andrew, Clara, and Sadie on the beds, looking at Josh bored.
Gabby rushed to her bed, sitting by Sadie, and looking up at Josh. The four waited for Josh to say something.
Josh was frozen. Like he said, he didn't have a speech ready. He was just gonna wing it.
"C'mon. You can do this," Aaron whispered kindly into Josh's ear. His skin erupted with goosebumps and gulped. It was now or never.
"Guys.. I, I.. I'm so sorry. I was a dick.. An asshole, and- and I didn't mean anything I said back there. What I said was.. was horrible. I need you guys. Sadie, Gabby," Josh looked over at his best friends since forever, "You two have been through the thick and thin with me. You stayed with me after I told you.. you know. And I thank you guys each and every day for never giving up on me. You're both amazing and I love you guys so much, you know that right? I wouldn't be alive without your help." Josh smiled as the two girls grinned at their best friend. They couldn't stay mad at him. They knew Josh was angry, and they did leave him. Josh turned to Andrew and Clara who was sitting patiently on a bed.
"Now, I don't know you guys that well.. and what I said wasn't very much directed at you. I would like to get to know you guys very well, and maybe become best friends. We have only known each other for a matter of hours, but I want to know you guys for, perhaps, a matter of years. I'm so sorry for what I-"
"Dammit, Josh." Andrew rose up from the bed and embraced Josh with a hug. Josh stopped and tensed until he realized what was happening, and hugged Andrew back. The rest followed until it was just one big group hug. Even Aaron joined in.
Once everyone pulled apart, Josh asked, "So you forgive me?"
"Of course we do. How could we live without your annoying self?" Sadie pointed out.
Josh rolled his eyes but couldn't help from smiling. His friends had forgave him and that's what he needed most right now.
Josh looked at them and felt as if something was missing.
"Where is Faber?" Josh remembered.
"Back at her dorm. She's probably moping while eating jelly beans or something." Andrew replied.
"Jelly beans? Why didn't you guys stay with her if she was moping?" Aaron questioned.
"Because she was throwing jelly beans at us!" Clara exclaimed.
Josh chuckled and sighed. What a dumb thing.
"So how can we get to her without being attacked by jelly beans and rude words?" Sadie asked Clara.
"Well, considering that I know her better, we should-"
"You know her better? Hell to the no, Clary. I know her better than you." Andrew piped up.
Clara placed her hand on her hip and Josh was astonished. Such sassiness was portrayed in her actions.
"Um, excuse me? I know her better. We may have met her at the same time back in middle school, but she talked to me more than you." Clara glared.
Andrew laughed. "Whatever you say, Green Grape."
Clara's face reddened at the nickname, "That was one time in third grade, Andrew! Move on!"
"I have no idea what's going on," Sadie interrupted.
"I'm slightly uncomfortable." Aaron spoke up.
"Can I just go apologize to Faber? As annoying as she is, she's still funny and I would like to be her friend again," Josh tapped his foot, looking at Andrew and Clara.
"Fine," Clara shrugged. She led the rest to the elevator, knowing exactly where Faber's dorm was. It sucked that they didn't share, but Clara learned to cope with it. Her dorm mate was never even there, so Clara usually slept alone- which was okay. Faber had said her dorm mate was annoying, because Faber liked things dark while her roommate insisted everything to be pink and light. Her name was something like Mabel or whatever.
"Faber? You in there? We want to talk." Clara said through the door.
"Go away," Faber called back.
"But, Faber-"
"I have a bag of and M&M's and Sour Patch Kids. If you let us in, I will give you them." Andrew called back. He knew about Faber's dying love of candy- something Clara obviously knew nothing about.
The room went silent- too silent. There was a noise, a whisper, and finally the door opened, revealing Faber. Her curly hair was swept to the side and she was wearing an over sized black jacket.
Her eyes skimmed her friends until they locked with Josh's.
"What is he doing here?" Faber seethed. She was still mad and stayed that way for at least a day.
"He came to apologize," Gabby said softly.
"So you guys forgave him?" Faber asked. Her friends nodded and she rolled her eyes, of course.
"Please, Faber. Let me explain myself, okay?" Josh pleaded.
Faber looked at him with a glare. "I need my candy first."
Everyone looked at Andrew, who only looked down and gulped.
"Where the hell is the candy?" Faber questioned.
"Well, you see, we don't have your candy now. But, please, if you let Josh apologize then we could go get some," Aaron proposed. Faber looked at him for awhile and then huffed.
She walked away from the door and sat on her bed, ushering the rest to follow. Sadie, Gabby, and Clara sat with her on her bed while Andrew and Aaron took place on the roommates bed. Josh stood in front of Faber.
"Okay, so I know I was a total douche-"
"A big douche." Faber pointed out.
Josh gave her a look and Faber shrugged. "Anyways.. I'm sorry I went off on you like that. I was just mad.. I'm sorry. I know you didn't mean to break the rule but whatever. It's in the past. I haven't known you for long, but I want to stay friends with you. You're weird and exciting and it's fun to hang out with you. Can you please forgive me?"
Faber couldn't help but smile. She looked down and then to her friends. She sighed and said, "Yes."
Josh cheered and engulfed her into a hug. Everyone joined in for the second group hug.
It didn't last long until someone farted.
"Oh my God, who the fuck just did that?" Sadie exclaimed, jumping out of the hug.
A chorus of not me's flew through the air.
"That was so you, Andrew." Faber teased.
"Hell no. It was.. it was.. Gabby!"
"Fuck you, Ginger. It was totally Josh."
"The fuck it was! My farts don't smell like burritos from hell!"
"Then who did it?"
"I did." An unfamiliar British voice called out. A boy jumped out of the closet, scaring everyone shitless.
"Who the fuck are you?" Josh screeched.
Faber laughed hard. Everyone looked at her confused, and then back at the boy.
Josh recognized that boy. It was the tan, muscular guy back at the party, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a white tank top and black skinny jeans, and he was laughing along with Faber. He was hot.
"Faber, care to explain?" Clara folded her arms.
"Well," Faber tried to stop laughing, "that is Liam. He's in some of my classes and we did meet at the party. He was walking by when I came up here from Josh's and we just, you know, hung out a bit. I hid him in the closet when you guys showed up," Faber bit her lip.
"But, why?" Sadie asked.
Faber shrugged. "Didn't want to give you guys the wrong idea."
"Oh." Everyone said.
Faber nodded and looked at Liam. Liam smiled at her and sat behind her, whispering something into her ear, which made her giggle.
"Something is definitely gonna go on between them," Aaron whispered into Josh's ear, which made him shiver.
"I doubt it." Josh shrugged.
"Bet you ten bucks that something will," Aaron tried.
"You're on." Josh whispered back.
"So.. we should go eat. I'm starving, and the first day of classes was such a bore. I barely ate lunch." Andrew tried to carry on a conversation.
"Sure. Lets go to.. oh my God. Aaron, we should take them to that pizza place." Josh jumped to Aaron.
Aaron's eyes lit up, "You mean SGP Palace?"
Josh furiously nodded. "That place."
"What is going on?" Sadie asked.
"We know the perfect place to eat. Just don't eat a shit load of pizza, because even though it tastes amazing, you're gonna have a bad time." Josh grinned.
Everyone went back to their dorms and grabbed whatever they needed and headed out to dinner.
Finally things seemed like they would get better.• • •
Hi
Okay so that happened. I need everyone to be friends. Also, some characters will just come out of no where, so don't get confused if you're like "what the hell???? who is this???"
It's part of my plan.
