Okay, it was finally time. My job interview at one of the biggest marketing companies here in San Francisco.. I had to get this internship! That would be perfect for my college papers after high school.

I was so nervous that I checked my hair 3 times in a row, until I finally stepped into the elevator in the lobby.

Everything would be fine. Mr Parkinson and I had talked on the phone, I had to see him.
His office was on the 16th floor of this high-rise in the middle of San Francisco.
A huge sign with the name of the company hung outside the building and everywhere in the city it was advertised by the most important business people.
All clever business people who sit in their stinking offices all day and yet calmly approach the whole thing.
I would not stand this all my life, though ... For this salary? It would be possible.

The whole ride in the elevator, I thought, how I was supposed to introduce myself the best.
How I had to gesticulate so as not to be as crooked as I usually do.
„Good morning Mr Parkinson, my name is y / n uhm .. y / l / n. Its a pleasure to meet you. "
Well ... that had to be better somehow.

"Good morning Mr. Parkinson, it's a real pleasure to meet you, my name is y / n y / l / n. We had a call. "
Not quite, but better.

Just as I was reciting my performance, the elevator door opened and a very tall man in a buttoned up shirt stood next to me. He wore dark blue pants and held his cell phone in his hand.
As a result, he had only just nodded to me and then was busy texting on his phone again, or whatever he was doing.

He looked damn good, so I seemed to have stared a little too.

„Can I help you?" The man tore me from my thoughts, whereupon my eyes shot up and I was held deep within his in a second. They were blue with little green speckles.
Simply magical!

"Uhm ... Sorry." I slurred and rubbed my neck insecurely.
„Didnt your parents tell you that staring at other people is impolite?"
He cleared his throat, deliberately got himself closer to the wall and returned to his cell phone.

Wow. Very nice...
I didnt want to show him my reaction so I turned to the mirror on my right side to pull out some hair on my bun, so that the whole thing wouldnt look so strict.
Then I straightened the sleeves of my black blouse and just waited for the elevator to stop on the right floor to get away from this guy.

Finally, the doors opened and I ran as confidently as possible along the corridors.
I passed many offices, all of them were furnished in a very modern way. You could tell by the fact that the walls were just windows. Everything was made of glass!

I was impressed and could not stop looking around

I was impressed and could not stop looking around.
It was just incredible to me!
I mean, I came from a simple family home. 2 siblings, who mocked me all the time, totally normal parents, both of whom worked and a boring country house.

But pretty soon I realized that the guy from the elevator was following me.
Where did he want to go?

I just ignored his quick footsteps behind me and headed straight for Mr Parkinson's office, which unlike the other offices had a plain white wall with a large wooden door.
It was at the end of the corridor, it showed his leadership position in this building.

I knocked on the wooden door, waiting to be invited in, but suddenly I heard a voice behind me.
Quickly I turned around and saw a tall man in a suit shaking hands with the guy in the elevator and talking to him a bit.
Then suddenly they both turned to face me, and Mr. Parkinson, I suppose, came up to me and shook my hand.
„Good morning, Ms y / l / n, right?"
With a slight nod I confirmed, but was distracted by the grin of "Mr Hammer".
He had a name tag already?!

Before I knew it, Mr. Parkinson also put a sign in my hand and then said, "So Ms y / l / n, this is Mr. Hammer. Only one of you is going to get the internship, so do your best, both of you!"

At that moment, I could have cried right away. The guy intimidated me! He would be much better than me anyway!

„At first Ms y/l/n, you can go to that office and bring me all the books that have a yellow sticker on the front."

„Mr Hammer, it'd be nice if you could bring me a coffee. Black, a little bit of sugar, whipped cream and those chocolate sprinkles on top."

With Mr Parkinson walking straight to his office, I gave "Mr Hammer" a quick glance, but then turned and made my way to the office to get the books.

After I had piled up all the books, I put back the ones I had taken off the shelf.
Suddenly, I stopped at a "You have no chance." from the direction of the door.
I looked up in a flash and saw Mr. Hammer getting closer until he finally stood right in front of me.
„Excuse me ?!" I stood up indignantly and looked at him.
He was really tall!

"Oh come on. All of us know I'll get the internship. "
With a wicked grin, he turned around and deliberately tore the stacked books from the desk as he walked.
"No!" I called quickly and bent down to pick them up again.
„You see. No chance baby. "
Grinning, he left the room while I had a nervous breakdown.

I would NEVER win! He would try everything to get me out of the race.

What should I do?

So I wiped away my tears, got up, grabbed the books, and made my way to Mr Parkinson's office.
Immediately I saw Mr. Hammer standing there and rolled his eyes.
„Oh Ms y/l/n! You're done, finally."
„We were just talking abou .. OUCH!"

FUCK!
Mr. Hammer had kicked me, and then I stumbled into Mr Parkinson, whom I then poured coffee over his shirt!
"OH MY GOD I AM SO SORRY!" I explain, staring at the coffee-spattered shirt.

"Mr. Hammer already told me you were clumsy, but that's it! I just got this tux today!
Please leave Ms y/l/n/!"

I could feel the tears in my eyes, but when Mr. Hammer grinned at me I couldnt hold it anymore.
I ran out of the office as fast as I could, then ran down the hallway and then hit a wall outside of the building, just crying.

I''ve never been so humiliated, insulted and downed. I really wanted to do this internship ...
Everything would not have happened if "Mr. Hammer" hadnt hated me so much!

What should I do now?
