::Johnny::

For a second, Jonathan Adams forgot that his ruler had told him to convince his new classmates that he was from a place called London, England. It was all really hard to get used to-the names of the countries, the subjects taught, and all his supposed background information. It was the only way humans would believe he was one of them, of course, but what good would that be if the reason behind his being here was staring at Johnny with her beautiful oceanic blue eyes filled with suspicion? "How'd you find out?" He asked Summer. Evidently, she never gave him her name, but he knew it for years now, because her family was a legacy in his world.

Johnny wasn't like any other boy in this world, and perhaps, that had to do with the fact that he wasn't from this world at all. Way up high, above the usually-fluffy-white-but-now-scary-grey clouds was where Johnny lived. He wasn't the only one who lived there, of course; there were many others of his kind. In his world, there was no such thing as England and no such popstar as Lady GaGa. His world contained different areas and different musicians. Johnny, indeed lived in a magical world, for he, was a. . .genie. Humans often believed the genies were creatures with a tail made out of smoke and blue skin; a mere myth. What they didn't know was that genies actually did exist. With the snap of their fingers, they could grant anything someone wishes to behold. Despite myths, genies didn't live in a lamp, but instead, had their own world, way above.

A few centuries ago, during medieval times, Englishmen were terrified by the idea of all sorts of mythical creatures--vampires, wizards and even. . .genies-living in their world. Humans believed that all mythical creatures were dangerous to the world, so one by one, they searched for each one of them and tried to slaughter them all, one way or another. A man named Paul Mackenzie Rose was the one in charge of all the attacks and he was, in fact, responsible for the brutal deaths of millions of wizards, vampires, werewolves, centaurs and even the harmless unicorns. Paul Mackenzie Rose was hated by every mythical creature out there, including the genies. Creatures cursed his name, spat at the thought of him, and glared whenever they heard a human praise him. However, beyond belief, Paul Mackenzie Rose had a child. All being suspected he'd end up just as cruel as his father. They were all so, very, wrong. When Tom Rose neared the age of twenty (by that time, he's been already married to the love of his life and had a child), he unintentionally witnessed the attempt of the slaughter of a vulnerable genie. Study books show that the genie was in fact, an ancestor of Johnny's world's current ruler-and dare he say it: Johnny's father, Howard Jr. Adams. Astonished at the sight, Tom Rose jumped between the genie and his father. With that, Tom was stabbed unintentionally in the chest by his very own father and died. . .just to save the life of the genie.

After that very fateful day, the genie, whose name was William Adams, concluded that the human world wasn't safe anymore for all innocent and pure magical creatures. So along with the rest of the genies that survived, the elves, the unicorns and other mystical animals (the vampires, the werewolves and wizards were far too dangerous to join), William flew high above, and with magic, the creatures-ruled by the genies-created their very own world. William Adams, Johnny's ancestor, became the ruler of the world and he swore to himself, that as long as this magical world existed, William's descendants will always be the heir of the throne, making them the most powerful genies of their times, and they will forever keep a watchful eye on the Rose family. And so that was exactly what happened, because here, Johnny Adams found himself more than centuries later, in the human world-sent specifically by his father-to help Summer Elizabeth Rose be the happy teenager she deserved to be. His mission, Johnny reckoned, was to grant Summer three wishes before her eighteenth birthday. This was tradition for the Adams; his father, grandfather, great-grandfather and so on have all served the same task.

Johnny's father, King Harold, informed the news to Johnny a little less than three months ago. Johnny immediately had to start his training, in order to fit in, in the human world. He came up with his background story (he was a transfer student from London, England who just moved here), he had to learn all American and English culture such as the popstars Summer previously mentioned, and was forbidden to use magic in public. Of course, all that was impossibly hard for Johnny to remember, so sometimes, he wore a quizzical expression and didn't know what to answer. Which was, Johnny realized, what was happening right now.

"Well, you have an English accent. You could tell you're from England." Summer stated, matter-of-factly. Johnny vaguely remembered his father informing him about where his ancestors lived before William Adams has ever created their world. Now remembering clearly, the memory of his father telling him that they have come from a country called England resurfaced his thoughts. Of course, Johnny's ancestors have talked with that well known English accent Summer recognized and evidently, their descendants have adopted the accent over the years. Johnny used to think everyone talked with such accent-magical or human-but he quickly learned that he was wrong, for he was in America, not England.

"Right, right, right." Said Johnny, rather quickly. He knew that Summer's suspicions were growing and he was aware he couldn't let that happen. The rules quickly stated that you can only reveal yourself to the human only after you've granted the first of the three wishes. So Johnny, more-aware-than-ever of what was happening, inquired, changing the subject, "So. . .what did you say was your name again?"

"Summer." The girl stated, with a monotone voice. She wasn't much of a talker, Johnny realized. "And yours?" The girl inquired, looking down at her shoes, a frown making its way on her face. After glancing down at her shoes, Johnny took notice of why she had that saddening face expression; her shoes were not only ripped and torn just like the rest of her clothes, but they were all muddy because of the damp and wet pavement due to last night's rain. Weather forecasts have showed interest in the unusual North Carolina weather, and Johnny knew all too well what was the cause of it: him. As long as Johnny was in the human world, weather would promptly change from blazing hot to freezing cold in the gap of twenty-four hours with not even the tiniest warning. If the weather was exaggeratedly abnormal, it meant he wasn't fulfilling his job successfully and was losing time. If it came back to utterly normal, it meant it was time for Johnny to say his goodbyes and go back home.

"My name? My name isn't important." Johnny retorted, and as if right on time, the school bus arrived.
