Waking up to the smell of homemade pancakes always delight me. Well, if it was really pancakes. But, instead it is just the smell of the loveliest flowers that were in the backyard(you guys must be wondering how on Earth flowers could possibly smell like pancakes, but if you were in my shoes, you will know how I feel.). I woke up out of my bed to do the daily morning necessities, before I could reach Steelwoods to acquire a few books, with one book having the most peculiar name of "How-to's on evading an attack by the Englishman".
This morning was very different. I was greeted by the dog, hoping it won't tear of my new sneakers as it was really expensive( precisely $3000 for a standard pair), but surprisingly, all it did was look at me and then walk down to the patio. I tried to pet it, but it walked away😥. After a few futile minutes of befriending the dog, my mother parks in the driveway, but, with a truck. Before I could even say," hey mom, hows it going?!" , she called 'Pa Weasley and told him to "Bring it in". She didn't even care if her son was hurt, or if he was hungry, or at the very least ask if I'm OK.
Mad at my mom, I confidently asked her what's going on and why am I not included in all of this "Family business" . She remained silent throughout the journey, not even a sigh. As frustrated as I could be, I command her to stop the truck and unlock the doors. Instantly, the truck came to a halt, and the doors unlocked. That was very quick. I took my brand new Samsung Galaxy Nexus ( yes, you heard me.) I made a quick call to the Dean of the university, stating that our vehicle was no longer operational and I would be late for my classes.
I jumped out of the big truck and my moms first reaction was, "Do you really want to know, Joe?" I wanted to say yes! so badly, but I still had to keep my cover. If I confronted my mother about Mr.Colby and how I had found the body, and about the basement, my life could be at risk, because, who will want to keep a threat? I say calmly,"Maybe, for the best, you can tell me when you feel its right". She then requested me to get back in the warm n cozy truck to go to Steelwoods.
As we arrived to Steelwoods, my mother and I have a very, strange conversation. It was as if she had been possessed or something.
It started of like this:Mom: So you want to know?
Joel: I thought we discussed this already...
Mom: There's alot you do not know Joe, and, if you get to know...
Joel: If I get to know... What will happen? Will I lose (Jokingly) my life?
Mom: I'll be more than happy to do that for you.
Joel: (Jeering) So how will it happen? With ketchup everywhere?
Mom: Don't make me do something I'll regret Joel En-
Joel: What will you do? Toss me to the pavement?
*(I receive a tight smack to the face. Ow.)*
Mom: I don't want to listen to your nonsense!
Joel: I need to go, I'm wasting my time in this chat. I couldn't even get to have coffee with my mom, and now this?! Please, think about whatever you do and say to me! I know I'm not the best, and I certainly know for sure that my family is up to something and I will get to know about everything that's going on behind my back!
With that, I open the door, and, forgetting that this isnt a lowered Ford Capri but actually a SUPER TRUCK, I fall face down into the uncut grass.
