I'll Be There

Hi Henry Oh Henry

I woke up at 9:57am. I got in the shower and put on my red plaid button up shirt, black jeans and red boots. William was playing with the babies. I wanted to see what Henry was doing. It was a little early. I grabbed a book, went outside, sat on my porch, and started reading. When I read my whole mind is in the book and the outside world isn't even there. I kept hearing someone coughing. I was getting annoyed. I looked up and three boys about my age were around me. The boy was still coughing.

Me-ARE YOU DYING?!?!

Boy-No. You were so in your book and we wanted to talk to you. I'm sorry.

Me-No I'm sorry for yelling. I'm usually nice it's was just that your coughing was irritating. Who are y'all?

Boy-I'm Rico

Boy-Seth

Boy-Caleb

Me-I'm Sasha. Y'all live around here?

Caleb-Yeah we go to Mcloving High

[A/N]-I made that school up

Me-I'm gonna go to Greenhouse High

Seth-Oh cool.

Me-Yeah

Caleb-So Sasha you got a bae or naww?

Me-Yeah I'm team taken

Caleb-He's lucky. If he don't treat you right I'm right here

Rico-Boy she don't want you

Caleb-Don't be jealous

Me-Y'all are funny. We can all be friends. I don't really have a lot of those around here.

Seth-Why not?

Me-I'm from Detroit

Caleb-Isn't that the Monroe city

Me-(laughing) it's the Motorcity

Seth-Well do you have a phone number. Maybe we can all go shopping some day.

Me-Yeah I'll have to ask Sabrina and William but they might say yes

William tapped my shoulder

William-There good boys. Except for him

William was pointing at Caleb. I started laughing.

Me-Yeah I think Rico and Seth will keep him away from me. What y'all doing next Saturday? 

Rico-Going to the mall with you (laughing)

William-I'll drive you all

Me-Sounds like a plan. I'm gonna go talk to Henry about school

Caleb-Who's Henry?

Me-The boy next door with my glasses. He's reading that book right over there.

I pointed to Henry and Henry was watching us.

Me-Hey Henry you wanna come to my porch and meet my new friends?

Henry-My mom said I have to stay on my porch. I might get kidnapped.

I know he did not say kidnapped. This is a good neighborhood. He can't just walk over here? William started laughing. I hit him on the leg.

Me-Okay I'll be right over there(gco)

I heard Conrad crying. I got up and walked in the house. Michael was napping. Sabrina was struggling to make Conrad stop crying. She gave him to me and he was still crying. I know the trick. I sat him in the cradling position, grabbed his foot, and lightly stroked my index finger up and down his foot. Everyone came into the house except for Henry and they looked shocked. Conrad fell asleep and I sat him in his bed. Everyone still looked shocked.

Me-What?

Sabrina-I was trying everything and you just grabbed his foot and stroked it.

Me-Yeah. He isn't ticklish yet but when I do it, it calms him.

William-Wow You teach us a lot

Caleb-You have a baby?

Me-No I'm only 14

Rico-I thought you were 17

Me-wow let's go back outside.

We went outside and sat on the porch. Henry was looking at us.

Henry-Is the baby okay? Because I was one second from disobeying my mother's rules and going to check on him

Seth-Check on your(gco)

Me-So yeah you thought I was 17?

Rico-yeah you're tall.

Me- I get that a lot. I think my curly hair and tallness gets people guessing my age

They all laughed. I actually don't know how old they are.

Me-How old are y'all?

Me-O cool.

Seth-Guys I think we should be heading home. It's getting late.

Caleb-Yeah I'll ttyl

Me-See ya later

I walked to Henry's house.

Me-Hey Henry. So what's Greenhouse High like?

Henry-It's a great school. I get all A's. All my friends go there. The school is huge. They have a food court. Pizza hut, taco bell, Starbucks, and McDonald's is in the school. The cafeteria is big. The school is huge. It's easy to get lost.

Henry's mom-TIME FOR DINNER!

I knew that meant I had to leave because Henry had to go inside. I waved goodbye and goodnight. The babies were fed and asleep. Sabrina made nachos. I love nachos. When we were finished I put on my pajamas and went to bed.
