Feud Between Packs
Chapter 3: When Did Things Get So Complicated?
Rosalina sat in the car with her brothers on their way back to their house. Rosalina had a hard time keeping her mind off of Daniel Hemmings. She couldn’t seem to forget about the way he had instantly become someone so important to her. Now, that she looked back on their meeting, she couldn’t help, but think it had been just as romantic as in the books. She smiled to herself as she recalled the way he had kissed her; it had been her first kiss and although she was mad at him at the time, she wasn’t now. Her first kiss had been just the way she wanted it. It had been spontaneous and unexpected.
The car ride ended in front of their house. Rosalina hopped out of the car without waiting for her brothers, she wanted to tell her mother about her new friend. She wanted so desperately to tell her about her mate Daniel, but that wouldn’t end well, because Rosalina knew that her mother would definitely tell her dad.
Rosalina hurried into the house through the front door and greeted Jorge and Macon with a hug. It wasn’t exactly prober since she was of higher rank with her being the Alpha’s daughter, but they had known her since birth and were like uncles to her.
Rosalina’s mother stood in the kitchen with their chef, discussing tonight’s menu for the pack meeting. Rosalina couldn’t attend the meetings, since she hadn’t shifted yet.
“Mama! I have to tell you something!” Rosalina yelled and her mother turned her attention onto her. She smiled and opened her arms for a hug. She hugged her mother and then hugged their Chef Angela.
“What did you want to tell me, mija?” she asked and Rosalina smiled as she recalled today’s events.
“I got a friend!”
“Really, what’s her name?” Her mother asked and stared down at her daughter with a soft smile on her face. Her mate had made the right decision concerning Rosalina’s class outside the perimeter.
“Isabella Hemmings!” Rosalina didn’t understand what happened next. Her mother became quiet and looked lightheaded. She gripped the counter and Angela immediately grabbed a chair for her to sit on.
“Luna! What’s wrong?” Angela asked frantically and Rosalina’s mother reached for the glass of water that Angela had placed in front of her.
“Mama! Are you okay?” Rosalina was now worried.
“Daddy! Something’s wrong with mama!” Rosalina yelled for her father, because she was now worried that this was something very serious. She assumed that her mother hadn’t called for her father, because he hadn’t instantly arrived, but now that Rosalina had yelled for him, she knew that he would storm into the kitchen within seconds.
Her father stormed into the kitchen, just as Rosalina predicted, with her brothers following close behind. Her father was beside her mother immediately, gripping her hand and trying to get her to look at him.
“Mi amor, focus on me. What’s wrong?” Her mother rested her forehead on her father’s while tightly gripping his hand.
My baby! She met one of them!
Rosalina’s mother began to shake and Rosalina watched as her father wrapped his arms tightly around her, with an enraged look in his eyes. Rosalina could now see that they had been communicating through their mate-link, because her father had been more controlled, before he reached her mother.
It was obvious that he was saying something to calm her down; by the way her mother stopped shaking little after little.
“Rosalina, what’s your friend’s name?” Her father asked with a calm, but edgy voice. Rosalina knew that her honest answer would anger him, so she kept quiet. She couldn’t understand why her friend’s name could have such significance, but she couldn’t tell him. Something that could anger her father this much was not good for her or her friendship with Isabella.
