Due to its history of cattle ranching and cattle drives, Texas has been a major hot spot for cowboy culture, with cowboy boots and hats being everyday attire for many Texans. Predictably, they're also very fond of horses, with rodeo (an equestrian sport inspired by cowboy traditions) being the official state sport. Texans also think of themselves as being very physically strong and tough, hence the common phrase "don't mess with Texas". Therefore, Saki Kurokoma, a super-strong winged horse who dresses like a cowgirl, is a perfect fit.
