*Jason*

I picked her up at the designated time. She smiles and kisses me on the cheek when she gets in my car. We ride in silence until we get to the park. I take her to this big oak tree and we sit down. "Aubrey my dad is coming back from prison. Now let me explain everything okay?" She nods her head as if saying I can continue. "When I was 5 my dad became an alcoholic. He would get drunk and loud. Well when I turned 6 my dad started getting violent. He would hit my mom and yell at her. I tried to stop him and he hit me and yelled, 'You were a mistake. I hate you. You're not even mine!' He would kick me and yell mean things. It lasted until I was 10 then he got arrested. I'm gonna be honest I'm glad to see him go. He was so mean to my mom and caused her to have two surgeries. I have no sympathy for him. The night he was arrested was different. He was beating me and saying nasty things then he whispered to me, 'Jason don't worry the cops won't find out about the other one.' He laughed and kicked my in the face one last time. He left and before I knew it the cops were at our house. They took him away. I was so happy to see him leave. My mom cried and I just held her." That took all I had to say that. I get chills thinking about it. Aubrey has a look of pity across her face. "Who's the other one?" I sighed to that question. I was hoping she wouldn't ask. "The other one is my sister." I tear up. "He did unthinkable things to her. If he did it to her now I'd kill him." He is a terrible person. If he finds us I will kill him. There's another reason why he went to prison but I'm not ready to talk about that. "I'm so sorry Jason." At this point Aubrey is crying and holding my hand. We go back to her house. We watch a movie to get our minds off my dad. We're cuddling and watching Safe Haven when there's a knock on the door.
