"Sometimes I stop to wonder was it just a lie?
If what we had was real, how could you be fine?
'Cause I'm not fine at all..."
Luke still sat in his room, regretting his actions towards Paige. It wasn't her fault that she wanted to help him. She wanted to fix Luke because it seemed as if everyone else had given up on him.
Paige was the only one Luke let in since March. He wasn't sure why, but he felt like through her, he could get to Alex somehow. Now that he really thinks about it, it sounds as if he was using Paige. But there was nothing else that he could do.
He missed Alexandra so much. All he wanted was to see her again. Even if he were seeing her for the last time, he would make it count. He would tell her everything, and nothing would stop him. But he knew that Alex wasn't going to come back to listen to him vent out. That would be a waste of her time.
He heard that she had a new boyfriend. It hurt him that she already moved on; that she's happy without him. But is she really?
The front door closing could be heard from Luke's bedroom, and he wondered who it could be. He was tempted to go out there and see for himself. He allowed his feet to take him to his bedroom door, reaching his hand out to the knob.
His feet padded against the carpeted flooring, almost drowned out by the familiar, nervous laugh. Coming up to the end of the hall, he gripped the corner, and braced himself for whatever his eyes may find.
But no preparation could prepare him for this.
Alex stood there in the middle of the sitting room, receiving hugs from the lads and excited greetings from her friends. Luke just stared, not able to move due to the amount of her beauty and the surprise he had for seeing her again.
Alex turned. Her dark brown eyes locked with blue ones, and Luke's breath hitched. They stared, and none of the others seemed to notice.
Luke saw how Alex mouthed his name, and the way she started to inch forward. Luke didn't know what to do.
Paige glanced over to the two, smirking to herself as she leaned into Alex to whisper in her ear. "Go and talk to him. You'll like what he has to say."
And so Alex walked up to Luke, grabbed his wrist, and led him to his bedroom.
Luke and Alex sat at the foot of the bed, not knowing what to say. Until Luke spoke up.
"I wish that I could wake up with amnesia."
[are you happy now, Alex? ;p]
